Park Synagogue East
Lori & Steve Raichilson
Please tell us a little about
yourselves:
We have lived in Cleveland
for almost 32 years. Lori
grew up in New Jersey,
and Steve in Bualo, New
York. We met in Princeton,
New Jersey on a blind date
and moved to Cleveland
when Steve became CEO of
Menorah Park (a position
he retired from recently).
Steve continues to consult
in healthcare, and Lori works with senior adults in assisted
living facilities helping with memory and cognition
skills through her program, Brain Aerobics. We have
three grown sons who live in New York, New Jersey and
California.
What made you decide to join Park?
Since we’re not originally from Cleveland, we’ve
been looking for a place that feels like “home” with
a congregation that feels like “family.” We attended a
Shabbat morning service to support our friends and Park
members, Penny and Bob Greenberger, who had invited
presenters from a learning center they are involved with
in India. When Rabbi Sko made Steve sing a solo during
Adon Olam at the end of the service, he won Steve over.
We thought the service was fun, and we thought it would
be fun to become members of Park, too!
