impact of our peaceable presence be How much would it lend veracity to our invitations to know Christ How much more attractive would it make our profession of faith What would it demonstrate to people about the Prince of Peace whom we follow I know peaceableness is hard work As much as I try to be courteous to people in the service sectors I still have off days And it s easy to be courteous to someone you only see once a week for 10 minutes It s a lot harder to be courteous to those close to you your neighbors your family your co workers The more you re together with someone the more possibilities for irritation and frustration And the harder it is to always be peaceable My only hope to grow in peaceableness is in Christ As I grow closer to Christ and ask him to make me an instrument of his peace he shows me opportunities and gives me inner strength to do so But it s a lifelong process May we all grow in peaceableness as we continue to pursue Christ
