Slipper designsIt's fantastic to design your own slippers at Owniez! You have the freedom to express your unique style in three simple steps.Step 1: you choose the color of the soles. Are you going for a striking bright color or a subtle neutral shade? The choice is yours!Step 2: then we will look for a print together. Are you going for a graphic pattern, an inspiring design, your own logo or just a blank slipper? Give free rein to your creativity and make your slippers a real eye-catcher. Are you creative and want to make your own design? That is also possible, please request the design specifications from us.Step 3: finally choose the quality, width and color of your straps. Do you go for a contrasting color or do you prefer to keep it simple by going for the same color as your soles? In Australia they are known as 'thongs', in the UK as 'flip flops', in South Africa they are called 'plakkies'. In the Netherlands 'slippers' and in other parts of the world they call them 'jandals'.
FLIP FLOP DESIGN STUDIOWe would like to tell you more about the design and production process of our flip flops. Because how does it actually work? We start by making an appointment because getting to know each other and working together are essential to design and produce the most beautiful slippers together. By exchanging ideas, we can put together a perfect combination of style, prints and colors and thus design the most beautiful slippers. Our talented design team will get to work with all the information and the assignment.Depending on the size of the order and the number of dierent prints, this will take about 2 weeks in total. Once the designs are ready, you still have time to make adjustments where necessary. Once everyone has agreed and the size arc and order size have been determined, we plan the production process.The time of year and the size of the order determine the final production time, but you must take a period of 3-5 weeks into account. Shipping times are not included in this planning. Because these depend on the place and/or country to which the goods must be sent.
OUR STORYThe Owniez concept was created six years ago, in beautiful tropical Mauritius. When you walk in slippers you are relaxed, relaxed and happy, but why are the slippers on your feet so colorless? Why was it only possible to buy boring red, blue or black slippers? And why was the selection of slippers so small while most people have more than 3-4 pairs of slippers in their closet?Inspired by colors, creativity and a background in the fashion industry, it was time to develop a new concept where you could design your own slippers. Slippers that are not only durable, comfortable and aordable, but also reflect your unique style. And so the Owniez Flip Flops adventure began.Owniez Flip Flops Mauritius was founded in 2017, all slippers were designed and produced from a small workshop. The sale took place online via our webshop. But the best part was our 'travelling' store. At the most beautiful resorts, overlooking an aqua blue sea, we produced Owniez slippers from a cargo bike. Tourists could try on slippers after which we printed their unique design on the right size slippers, then they could choose their favorite size and color strap and within 15 minutes they were walking on their own unique Owniez Flip Flops.In 2019, Owniez moved to Nairobi (Kenya), a completely dierent country, where we had several points of sale in the city and in beautiful safari lodges. Tourists could email us their most beautiful photos, which we then printed on our slippers and delivered wherever they wanted.In 2022 it was time to go completely sustainable and have all our materials such as soles and straps produced with an FSC quality mark. It was also the year that Owniez moved to the Netherlands. We have established the Flip Flop Design Studio in Leeuwarden. From this studio we design and produce all our unique, colorful and sustainable slippers, which are then delivered worldwide.

At Owniez we recycle slippers that for whatever reason did not make it into the collection. It may be that the (test) print is not good enough or that we do not want to add the combination of colors and design to the collection. We certainly won't throw this slipper away, but we will transform it into our Owniez Flip Flops Gift Vouchers.These gift vouchers are great to give to your friends, family and/or sta.
