Are you ready to chase the moonlight? This is no ordinary race! Starting at6pm, runners will tackle the same 6km every hour on the hour, navigating agradient and terrain that promises to keep things interesting. Choose from 3x distances when you register:SHORT COURSE - 1 LAP1 lap of fun and achievement for Juniors and Short Course athletes starting at 6pm. MID-COURSE - 6 LAPS6 laps, running from 6pm to 12am.The intermediate mid-course is guaranteed tohave you feeling the burn! Experience anexhilarating 6 hours of running at a steadypace of 6km on the hour, every hour. As youchallenge yourself and push through eachblock of time, you'll finish your adventure bymidnight, ensuring that you can enjoy somewell-deserved rest and rejuvenationafterward! Pack a swag or comfy chair andstay and support others!LONG COURSE - 12 LAPS12 laps, pushing through the night from 6pmto 6am. Running 6km every hour on the hour for achallenging duration of 12 hours is no smallfeat! This unique adventure will push youthrough the night, from 6pm until the dawnbreaks at 6am. It truly serves as the ultimatetest of endurance, mental strength, anddetermination. Get ready to embrace thechallenge and discover your limits!A total of $500 in prize money awaits. Prizemoney will be awarded to 1st, 2nd and 3rdmale and females for each course distance.

The FINAL course map will be confirmed 24 hours prior to race start (above map is anexample only). The course could be subject to change based on weather or any otherimpacts from use. Registered competitors found running on the trails outside of the Event will beautomatically disqualified. Please stay away from park unless you are riding a MTB or undertaking Scout activities.

LOCATIONRowallan Park, Glendaragh Road Farleigh. RACE HQA number of services will be provided for athletes and crew at Race HQ. This willinclude; race pack collection, basic first-aid, triage, questions, DNF’sSTART/FINISH LINEThe starting corral is only to be accessed by runners. This area will be fenced off toensure the safety of runners. Athletes can stop&drop their gear here between 3pm and4pm. PARKINGWe ask that 1hour & 6hour athletesand crew park furthest away, righthand side, near the entry to thepark.12hour athletes and crew park onthe left hand side just past the MadMountain Bike Club.RECOVERY AREAWe will provide a small communaltent space for runners and theircrews to use throughoutthe event. We ask all runners andcrews to be considerate of others inthe space and keep their area cleanand tidy.RUBBISHPlease take all rubbish with youand do not litter on the RowellanPark grounds.ATHLETE GAZEBOSPersonal 3X3M gazebo sites can bebooked for an additional cost of$30.00 through the registrationportal or email info@tri-activ8.com.au. RECOVERY AREACommunal marquees will be available to all runners where they can set up theirrecovery/feed stations. Athletes may choose their own areas under a tree or areawithin the ‘Communal Event Area’. ATHLETE GAZEBOS*Personal 3X3M gazebo space can be booked for an additional cost of $30.00. Multiplerunners may share a single gazebo. Gazebos must be secured with weights or pegs. Do notuse guide ropes - this will create a trip hazard. Please email info@tri-activ8.com.au tobook, alternatively log back into your registration to purchase. FIRST AID TEAM First aid will be provided by volunteers with appropriate qualifications. The first aid teamwill consist of a minimum 1 First Aid Officer onsite throughout the event alongsideRebecca Baird from Podiatry Mackay. For competitors or spectators who have a first aidissue or emergency, you can access assistance at the HQ Race Tent. SPECTATORS & SUPPORT CREWSpectators and support crew are more than welcome to come along to the Full Moon Ultra.Spectators and support crew are not allowed out on course at anytime. Running with orbeside an athlete will result in their disqualification. Cheering people as they run past,however, is 100% OK! Podiatrist Rebecca Baird from PodiatryMackay will be onsite, ready to support youwith expert foot and ankle care. Find Bec atRace HQ for quick treatment and advice tokeep you moving strong—whether you'redealing with blisters, toenail issues, or minorsprains and strains. Race rules are put in place for the safetyof participants, spectators, volunteers,staff and to protect the environment andintegrity of Rowallan Park and thesurrounding areas. The Race Director reserves the right toremove participants from the course ordisqualify participants if they are foundto be in breach of these rules.OUTSIDE ASSISTANCENo outside assistance or personal aid isallowed once a lap has begun. Forexample, runners cannot be handedanything by a crew member, pick uppersonal aid while out on the course orhand anything to a crew member once alap has begun. Outside assistance will result indisqualification. This includes running orcycling with or near participants whilethey are on course.HEADPHONES Headphones are allowed during laps,however, runners must only use one ear budor bone conduction headphones. This is toensure your safety while running throughthe trails, to hear instructions in anemergency.MANDATORY GEAR HEAD TORCH - All runners MUST wear ahead torch at all times on the track.Consider recharge, spare head torches orchangeable batteries. NO torch = NO run. SNAKE BANDAGE must be carried withrunners while on course at all times.HYDRATION is recommended, however notmandatory. Based on the temperature, thiscould be made mandatory. LITTERINGLittering on course will result indisqualification. Carry any rubbish with youand place it in a bin at the end of the lap.

FOLLOW THE COURSEThe Full Moon BYU course includes some out-and-back sections and winding sectionsthrough single track trail. The course will be heavily signed and barricades will be used tokeep you on course. If you are found to have deliberately cut the course, you will bedisqualified. If you make an honest mistake, the Race Director will have final say (eg.disqualification, add extra to next lap etc.).FOLLOW DIRECTIONS It is the responsibility of participants to follow the directions of marshals at all times while on course. This is for the safety of yourself and other participants.AGGRESSIVE BEHAVIOURAggressive or unsportsmanlike behaviour towards volunteers, event staff or otherparticipants will not be tolerated. Such behaviour will result in immediate disqualificationfrom the event at the discretion of the Race Director.DNFTechnically you DNF by;Failing to complete the loop within the hour;Failing to make the start line before the next loop begins;Accepting defeat and choosing not to continue. When you DNF, you will be required to inform the Race Director. You will not be allowedto recommence once you have finished.

WINNER/RESULTSThe winner is the first person to complete the final loop. The winner will be the first maleand female over the line in the final lap of their specific event. Top three male andfemale podiums will receive prize money. Maximum Series Points will be awarded to all ofthose who finish all of the required laps for their registered distance. DNFIf you DNF, your first step is to come to the RACE HQ tent. You can take your "memento"from the board as a reminder of the FULL Moon Ultra. DNF is a way of life in a BYU,embrace and celebrate it! Series Points will be awarded for all starters, 5 points will bededucted per lap that is not completed. FINISHINGOnce you have finished your laps or DNF’d you have a few options: Hang around and cheer on fellow competitors while relaxing in the comfort of the eventprecinct;Volunteer to "crew" for other competitors who are going long and need some help;See the Race Director about helping out as a volunteer;Roll out a swag and chill out - refresh and cheer on other runners still out on course! The atmosphere of a Backyard Ultra is one of friendship, camaraderie and support. Weencourage you and your support crew to hang around as long as you can when you finish tohelp create an amazing atmosphere for all of our competitors.

If you are unable to attend the event, you have the following options:You can transfer your registration to the next trail run in the series, which will incur a$5 administration fee.Alternatively, you may transfer your registration to another athlete, but you mustnotify us at least 7 days prior to the event, and a $5 administration fee will apply.All notifications should be sent in writing to info@tri-activ8.com.au.We reserve the right to modify the course without notice, as well as reschedule or cancelthe event in consultation with emergency services, government agencies, and eventstakeholders.If the event must be rescheduled, all entries will automatically carry over to the newdate. In the rare event that the event is cancelled and cannot be rescheduled, registeredparticipants will receive a credit for a future event, valid for 12 months. Please note thatrefunds will not be available in this situation.
