Please also join me in welcoming our 15 new members to the group! We’ve got a costumedesigner, a veterinarian, a photographer and even a lululemon ambassador in the mix now! I’mexcited to have such a diverse group supporting the League’s efforts!Our new membership year began in July, and it’s already been an exciting few months. In July,YPG members supported our Family Day of Service: Supplies for Student Success where wecreated 350 new lunchbox kits. In August we hosted an End of Summer Mixer featuring agenerous selection of plant-based food offerings from Hart House and Drag Queen Bingo withBiqtch Puddin’. In September, we launched our Thursday evening Sip and Serve series with aHispanic Heritage Month celebration featuring butterfly encouragement cards, school supply kit-making and finished the evening with an amazing mezcal tasting.This year, we are widening our reach in the lives of L.A.’s homeless and foster youth by hosting anAMAZING art auction fundraiser in December. Led by YPG Members Steve Gallindo and J’NetNguyen, we will need all hands on deck to reach our $40k event goal. Read more below!Can’t wait to see everyone in the upcoming weeks! -KaiCheers and SnapsWe want to spotlight two YPG members that have helped tremendouslyin our first Hispanic Heritage Month Celebration “Sip and Serve”.Longtime member Leslie Gonzalez secured funds from Unidos NBCUniversal for 1,500 school supply kits benefiting our Foster ChildrensResource Center. Artist Siyowin Peters, our newest YPG member, led abutterfly encouragement card making project during the event. She hasalso donated an art piece for our first ever YPG Art Auction. Check outtheir stories!This diverse group of early and mid-career professionals represent avariety of industries throughout Los Angeles. They participate invarious group volunteer projects and raise funds for the League’sprograms. Lasting friendships are developed while doing good forthe community. Weheard everyone’s needs and we want to make sure all our members have theopportunity to volunteer during their free time. Our first Sip & Serve was in September and it was a total hit with our Mezcaltasting. This month we will learn about Vodka. We’ll host a Blue Ice Potatovodka tasting, followed by school supply kit service project benefitting ourOperation School Bell program. Come learn the history of Vodka whilehelping L.A.’s most vulnerable children.
