Please join me in welcoming our 15 new members to the group! We’ve got a costume designer, aveterinarian, a photographer and even a lululemon ambassador in the mix now! I’m excited tohave such a diverse group supporting the League’s efforts!Our new membership year began in July, and it’s already been an exciting few months. In July,YPG members supported our Family Day of Service: Supplies for Student Success where wecreated 350 back to school lunchbox kits for children in need. In August, members networked atour End of Summer Mixer featuring a generous selection of plant-based food offerings from HartHouse and Drag Queen Bingo with Biqtch Puddin. In September, we launched our Thursdayevening Sip & Serve series with a Hispanic Heritage Month celebration featuring butterfly encouragement cards, school supply kit-making and ended the evening with an amazing mezcaltasting.This year, we are widening our reach in the lives of L.A.’s homeless and foster youth by hosting anAMAZING art auction fundraiser in December. Led by YPG Members Steve Galindo and J’NetNguyen, we will need all hands on deck to reach our $40k event goal. Read more below!Can’t wait to see everyone in the upcoming weeks! -KaiCheers and SnapsThis month, we spotlight two amazing YPG members who made our first“Sip and Serve” for Hispanic Heritage Month a tremendous success.Longtime member Leslie Gonzalez served as event host and securedfunds from UNIDOS@NBCUniversal to make 1,500 school supply kitsbenefiting our Foster Children’s Resource Center. During the event,Siyowin Peters, an amazing artist and our newest YPG member, led abutterfly encouragement card project using spray paint and stencils shecreated. She has also donated an art piece for our first ever YPG ArtAuction. Check out their stories by clicking the video link to the right!YPG is a diverse membership of early and mid-career professionalsrepresenting a variety of industries throughout Los Angeles. Theyparticipate in group volunteer projects and raise funds for theLeague’s programs which serve 22,000 children in need a year. Lasting friendships are developed while doing good in our community. In addition to our “Stretch & Serve” yoga class and volunteer serieson the first Saturday of every month, we are now launching “Sip & Serve” on thethird Thursday of every month. This series will feature a variety of spirit tastings,and always a fun service project.Our first Sip & Serve was in September and it was a total hit with our mezcaltasting. This month, we will learn about vodka. We’ll host a Blue Ice Potato Vodkatasting, followed by a school supply kit service project benefitting our OperationSchool Bell program. Come learn the history of vodka while helping L.A.’s mostvulnerable children.
