Comprised of students grades nine through twelve, the Hackett Band performs regularly at Kalamazoo United football games and at MSBOA marching and concert festivals, having consistently received First Division ratings. In 2023 the Hackett Band was awarded Best Marching and Best Percussion in Class D at the Portage Central Marching Invite. Current members of the Hackett Band have performed in the Mackinaw City Memorial Day Parade and at the Smokey Mountain Music Festival in Gatlinburg, Tennessee.

With additional non-marching students and a 50-member PC Winds & Percussion ensemble, the total band enrollment peaks at around 210 students! The bands are world travelers -- they have performed in Hawaii five times, throughout Europe on a number of occasions as well as Italy, Washington, D.C., Florida, and the Midwestern United States. The marching band is proud to only compete in the Michigan Scholastic Marching Band (MSMB) circuit, and has been a consistent caption winner and Grand Champion.
