November We always thank God for all of you and pray for you constantly 1 Thessalonians 1 2 NOVEMBER 2017 IN THIS ISSUE A Heart of Gratitude By Barbara Whitlock In our staff devotions last week one of our teachers instructed us to go around the room and say what we are thankful for Answers from family our job life God s grace and mercy where just a few that came from the teachers and staff here at Calvary Academy All of us here at Calvary are thankful for our families and the opportunity we receive to share God s love and goodness to every one of our students This fact has reminded me of a teacher I had in 7th grade who inspired me to reach beyond what I thought was my potential I thank God for her and the impact she had on my life and wish I had the opportunity to thank her in person And that is what I would like to challenge us with this month It is easy to get caught up in busy living and forget to thank those who gave us a chance to develop our gifts for God s glory Has your Pastor heard from you recently Have you gone back and blessed the teacher mentor who inspired your career When was the last time you told your parents how their example of consistent character caused you to follow hard after Christ True thanksgiving takes time to say thank you Student Highlight Highlighting our amazing students is something we love to do Turn the page to learn more about student accomplishments Furthermore it is praise and thanksgiving to God that is the height of gratitude Our gratitude to God generates generosity and overflows our hearts with joy Our thanksgiving invites contentment peace hope happiness and sometimes even forgiveness Let our words be words of thanksgiving and let s watch the Lord do wonderful works around us Gratitude speaks volumes to our Savior Let the message of Christ dwell among you richly as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom through psalms hymns and songs from the Spirit singing to God with gratitude in your hearts Colossians 3 16 Cont Page 2 Hola Como estas This is just one of the many phrases you ll hear coming from our students in the lower grades Our Elementary Spanish program is off to a great start Cont Page 3
