GETTING RID OF PESKY HOUSEHOLD ODORS BEFORE THE HOLIDAYS The holiday season is starting and that may mean lots of extra family and friends in your home But before the cooking and family gatherings start you ll want to make sure that any unwanted odors don t scare off your guests One of the easiest ways to get a bad smell out of your home is to open some windows Accidentally burnt that new pie recipe you re testing out for Thanksgiving That s an easy fix clean it up and air it out Even though the air may have a chill in it now opening the windows and letting in some fresh air can help eliminate strong smells within minutes When it comes to smells that may be a bit tougher to get rid of try absorbing the odor before adding other scented deodorizers to the mix Baking soda and white vinegar are great odor absorbers and are items most people already have in their home Depending on what you re trying to deodorize a simple mixture of one of the two may be the quick fix you re looking for If the refrigerator is where your bad smells are coming from the first step is to clean out any old and expired food Next to maintain a fresh smell keep a box of opened baking soda in the back of the fridge and replace it monthly A more natural way to get rid of smells is to use things like vanilla extract or lemons to combat odors fourmidable com 06

F R O M T H E D E S K O F M I K E S C H O C K E R Hello This time of year like many of you I think of Thanksgiving That holiday more than most makes us reflect on what we are most grateful in our lives Of course that includes our families friends co workers jobs health opportunities etc This time of the year also includes Veteran s Day As a proud father of son a that is currently serving in the Air Force in Kuwait and the realization that all veterans are what has made this country so special this holiday brings me as much gratitude as Thanksgiving Honoring those that choose to serve all of us regardless of our differences is special Honoring those who have sacrificed time with their families so we can enjoy time with ours is special Honoring those who have put themselves in places to be injured both physically and emotionally so we can enjoy the comforts of our homes and professions is special Honoring those who have paid the ultimate sacrifice in the name of freedom so we can pursue all of the opportunities this country affords is special At Fourmidable we have tried to honor our Veterans by working with Wounded Warriors Project the Gary Sinise Foundation and others In my opinion that is one way to honor our Veterans Seeking out a Veteran any day not just Veterans Days and saying thank you is another simple but meaningful way of showing our gratitude Sending care packages to those currently serving is another simple way to show your appreciation and I can say from experience they truly appreciate receiving those reminders from home There are endless ways to show our gratitude to our Veterans In my opinion the most important thing we can do is remember their sacrifice for all of us and do something to show our thanks They deserve it Happy Thanksgiving and to all our Veteran s thank you fourmidable com 14
