Under this contract, Nova provides engineering services for multiple repairs and improvements to their facilities, including the Second High Reservoir and the Old Conduit. Nova provides structural, mechanical, and civil rehabilitations and improvements to their facilities. Projects under this contract have consisted of structural and treatment improvements for increased operational reliability. Scope of services include field investigations, project definition report, design of repairs for structural elements; design of sluice gate repairs; water quality modeling; support during the construction phase; and the preparation of Operation & Maintenance Manuals.

Pump Station Improvement ProgramMiami-Dade Water & Sewer DepartmentState & Local GovernmentNova provides engineering and planning services to federal, state, and municipal agencies on various projects ranging from transportation and infrastructure, water and wastewater, and environmental.Miami-Dade County is continuously in the process of rehabilitating its wastewater treatment plants and its sewer collection and transmission system. As part of this effort, Nova was a recipient of the largest contract ever awarded to a woman-owned company by Miami-Dade County, (the WASD Pump Station Improvement Program–PSIP). Through this contract, Nova Consulting was the lead consultant in charge of managing over $178 million worth of projects.

Water, Wastewater, & StormwaterComprehensive Everglades Restoration Plan, G-508 Pump StationUSACE /South Florida Water Management DistrictNova provides services to public agency’s water and wastewater infrastructure projects in the areas of stormwater and drainage, wastewater treatment and collection systems, hydraulic modeling, and water quality studies.As part of the Comprehensive Everglades Restoration Plan (CERP), Pump Station G-508 is one of the main components in connection with the Everglades Agricultural Area Stormwater Treatment Areas Expansion. Nova provided construction management, engineering, and inspection services in support of the design, construction, and commissioning of the pump station.

Florida Department of TransportationContamination Assessment and Remediation (CAR) ContractEnvironmentalNova provides engineering and consulting services to state and local agency’s environmental projects including assessment and remediation, inspection and sampling, and environmental compliance and permitting.For over 25 years, Nova has been assisting the Contamination Assessment and Remediation- CAR Contract which consists of contamination assessment and remediation services, as needed on various FDOT project initiatives. Services also include emergency response to incidents involving potentially hazardous materials. In addition, through our current Environmental contracts, Nova is providing Miami-Dade County with environmental engineering services, such as, contamination assessment plans, remedial action plans, risk based corrective actions, emergency response mitigation, and Phase I and II ESAs.

Program ManagementPortMiamiTransportationNova provides services to public works agencies for the design and construction of aviation facilities, inter-modal facilities, light railway, transit systems, highways and bridges, and ports and waterways.The PortMiami Tunnel project consists of two tubes, each 41-feet wide and each containing two-lane roadways. Nova’s participation in this signature project included monitoring the on-site construction activities, inspection of materials in accordance with the plans and specifications; monitoring/inspecting Concessionaire’s Work Zone Traffic Control Plan and review of modifications to the Work Zone Traffic Control Plan, including Alternate Work Zone Traffic Control Plan, in accordance with FDOT D6 procedures. Nova was responsible for electronic tracking of all project documents, as well as follow-up of action items associated with them utilizing Project Wise and Hummingbird.
