AgendaNAVIGATING NYU’S ORGANIZATIONAL LANDSCAPE10am - 11:30am | 411 Lafayette, 6th FloorIn this workshop, new faculty will be introduced to the organizational landscape of NYU, with explanations of senior leadership at the institutional and school levels. Then, a panel of 3-4 junior faculty will offer advice centered around the theme of “What I learned in my first year.” Faculty will then be offered the opportunity to ask questions of panelists and CFA staff.DEVELOPING COLLABORATIONS & MEETING NEW PEOPLE4pm - 7pm | 60 Washington Square South, Room 905/7The first phase of this event includes a 60 minute panel with established faculty who have successfully developed a collaborative scholarly profile during their time at NYU. They will discuss how they navigate co-authorship, internal collaborators, external partnerships, and grant writing, among other topics. After the panel, new faculty will be joined by other faculty members for a mixer to meet and develop collaborative connections.HOW TO CONFERENCE10am - 11:30am | 411 Lafayette, 6th FloorOpen writing hours from 12pm - 3pmIn this collaborative workshop, we will discuss tips and tricks for strategizing conference participation and travel for early career faculty. We will share effective solutions to common problems and discuss the value and meaning of conference presentations, travel, and service in the early years of the academic career. Finally, we will discuss conference funding opportunities within NYU.
