After alengthy and thoughtful negotiation process with the ELPOA Board, the ELPOA Board votedon Tuesday, August 19, 2025, in favor of a proposed amendment to the Covenants,Conditions, and Restrictions (CC&Rs).This amendment has been carefully crafted to serve the best interests of both Eagle’s LandingCountry Club members and residents of the surrounding community. Our shared vision is tofoster a truly unified Country Club community—one that thrives through ongoinginvestment, continuous improvement, and a commitment to maintaining the exceptionalquality of life we all enjoy.In the coming weeks, we will host two informational town hall meetings to share more detailsand invite open, transparent discussion. Dear Eagle’s Landing Country Club Members, Both Spring & Summer at Eagle’s Landing Country Club have been exceptional. Membershipgrowth has been strong with very low attrition, and the clubhouse has been buzzing with activity.Thank you for the referrals, the warm welcomes to new neighbors, and the pride you show in ourcommunity every day. This fall I am beginning my own golf journey. I will be joining the ladies in Project Soar to learnthe game I admire so much. Please let us introduce Rick and Cathy Mant, who have been members of Eagles LandingCountry Club since 1998. They first moved to McDonough in 1998 from Ft. Worth, TX beforemoving to the ELCC community in 2000. Cathy grew up in Eugene, OR, and is the oldest of seven children. She is a graduate of ArizonaState University, where she had a successful college career, winning several collegiate titles,including the 1970 National Collegiate Championship, now known as the NCAAChampionship. Cathy played on the LPGA Tour for 10 years. She was the Head Women’s GolfCoach at Georgia State University for 19 years and has been teaching the game for 50 years. Sheis currently a teaching professional at Eagle’s Landing C.C. and enjoys sharing her knowledgewith her students. Cathy has been honored by induction into five Hall of Fames: The Marist HSHall of Fame, The Arizona State University Sports Hall of Fame, the Women’s Golf CoachesAssociation Hall of Fame, The Pacific Northwest Golf Hall of Fame, and most recently, theGeorgia State Athletics Hall of Fame. Rick and Cathy met in 1974 at the Braemar Country Club in Tarzana, CA. Rick was the Foodand Beverage Manager and Cathy was starting her golf career as an Assistant Golf Professional.They will be celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary next month. Rick was born and raised in Hawaii and fell in love with outrigger canoe paddling and golf at avery early age. He paddled his last Molokai to Oahu Championship race (a 42-mile race fromMolokai to Waikiki1995) at the age of 52. Rick is a graduate of The College of St. Thomas in St.Paul, Minnesota and after a brief stint in the insurance and laundry businesses, he had theopportunity to combine his love of golf with a job in the golf industry. For 40 years, Rick servedas a general manager who helped develop and manage country clubs in California, Florida,Hawaii, Oregon, South Carolina, Texas and here in Georgia, where he served as the ELCCgeneral manager for four years. Rick and Cathy have one daughter, Ashley Mant Cash, who is 38 and married to CharlieCash, also 38. They live in McDonough with their five children, ranging in age from 6 to 13.We are happy to say that all five kids are swinging the golf club. Ashley is a graduate ofAuburn University (War Eagle). After being a stay-at-home mom until her children allstarted school, she now serves as the administrative assistant to the head pastor at Eagle’sLanding First Baptist Church. In addition, she also works as a wedding consultant. Charlieis a graduate of Georgia State University and works in a managerial position for C and CFencing Company. They both keep extremely busy raising their five children. Ricks main hobby is playing golf and enjoying the company of his friends on the golfcourse. He serves as a commissioner on the Georgia Student Finance Commission for bothHope and Zell Miller scholarships. He also enjoys collecting wine and adding the wine to hiswine cellar. Before golf and wine, you will find him working out at the gym. Cathy loves playing Pickleball and reading. She also serves as a golf rules official at severalcollege tournaments throughout the year and is on the Executive Committee of the Ladies'National Golf Association.And if those hobbies are not keeping them busy enough, then they have all the variousschool programs and sports activities of their grandchildren.Both Rick and Cathy are members of the Wine club and are looking forward to this year’sWine Festival. You will also see them on the golf course, pickleball court, and other socialevents at the club. Say hi to the Mant’s when you see them and until next letter, enjoy your experiences atELCC.
