LETTER FROM THE DIRECTORSLETTER FROM THE DIRECTORSTo our Northeast Volleyball athletes and community,This past season at the Northeast Athletic Center was our most exciting yet — atestament to the incredible energy of the NEVBC community. Our Boys and Girls Clubteams set new records in tournament performance and college commitments, and wewelcomed more exceptional coaches and athletes into the fold. This was a year ofnew traditions, from formalizing our positional training curriculum to hundreds ofpeople wearing our signature “Championship Orange” on Sundays, our newesttournament tradition. We are so proud to say that Northeast Athletic Center has become the epicenter ofvolleyball in our community - this is a place where our region’s elite athletes train fortheir college programs, where 7 and 8 year olds get their first touches in Mini Volleyclasses, and where our adult and youth volleyball community plays into the wee hoursevery week at Open Gym.Summer at NEVBC is still the best season of the year. It’s a time for growth, exploration, and passion — when athletes can refine skills, discover new positions, and fall in love with the game without the pressure of competition. Whether you're abeginner trying out for your first team or a committed athlete preparing for a collegeseason, NEVBC is your home for the highest quality summer training. We’re especially proud of our growing NEVBC alumni community. In just over 7 years, over 100 of our girls and boys athletes have continued their volleyball journeys at thecollegiate level — including NCAA Division I, II, and III, NJCAA, and competitive clubprograms. This summer, many of them will be back in the gym — not just training, butcoaching and inspiring the next generation of NEVBC athletes alongside our veterancoaches. We are endlessly grateful for their leadership and the legacy they’ve built. To the parents in our community: thank you for your trust, partnership, andunwavering support. Watching your athletes grow in skill, confidence, and charactercontinues to be our greatest privilege, and the reason we keep going year after year.We can’t wait to see you in the gym this summer — it’s going to be anotherunforgettable one! With gratitude,Cat & Garrett Minyard, NEVBC Founders

#2 Floor Defense- At the end of the day, volleyball is all about keeping the ball inplay and off the ground. Easier said than done, especially as athletes progress tohigher levels and the attackers increase the velocity of their attacks, hit withmore range, and use a variety of deceptive tactics to keep the defendersguessing. In this Floor Defense Masterclass, Coach Cat (former Ivy LeaguePlayer of the Year and professional volleyball player) will increase the defensiverange and reading ability of all athletes in the class. Athletes can expect to learnthe technique and tactics to play the ball dynamically near the floor (includingsprawls, dives, extensions, and pancakes) and follow through by going to thefloor safely. In addition to defensive movements and technique, athletes willimprove their eye sequencing and defensive “reading” to get themselvespositioned where the ball is most likely to be attacked.#3 Setting- This Setting Masterclass is open to high level athletes that areinterested in perfecting their technique to become impressively athletic setters.Frog and Luci bring a wealth of setting knowledge from their setting careershere in the US and overseas, and both NEVBC Open Level coaches are excitedto share their secrets to high level success. While refining the fundamentals offootwork and handwork, Frog and Luci will also be pushing the athleticboundaries of our setters to help them keep consistent tempo and location intough situations. Athletes who take this Masterclass can expect to be settingballs on the run, above the height of the net, from the floor and in many other“less than ideal” situations that require advanced athleticism to make thosehighlight reel-worthy plays!MASTERCLASS #2 & #3MASTERCLASS #2 & #3REGISTER HEREREGISTER HERE

FREQUENTLYFREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONSASKED QUESTIONSDo I need to pre-register for programs?YES! Online registration is required. We will not be accepting any walk-up or drop-in athletes at oursummer classes, and we anticipate that many classes will fill up. This includes our Thursday and Fridaynight Open Gyms. The class I want to sign up for is full. What should I do? If a class is full, please sign up for the waitlist! We anticipate that some classes will fill up fast. If wereceive enough demand for a particular class, we will try to open up an additional session or court toaccommodate waitlisted athletes! How do I know which class is right for me?Our Summer 2025 class levels are organized by “Beginner,” “Intermediate” and “Advanced.” We havealso created a quick survey that can help you determine which camps and classes are best for yourathlete. All ages/grades are based on the UPCOMING 2025-2026 school year. If you have any classplacement questions, please email us at admin@northeastvbc.com.Do I need to be a NEVBC club player to sign up for classes? Not at all! Classes are open to all athletes, regardless of previous club affiliation. For our Advancedclasses such as Advanced Workshops, Masterclasses, and Elite Positional Training, we will ask for filmor a roster verification from a high level club team for any new athletes. What is the level of your All Skills classes? For our High School and Middle School All-Skills classes, the level is mixed among the courts, rangingfrom novice athletes to intermediate/advanced athletes who have played for their school or have clubteam experience. All athletes will receive training in the key skills needed for success in our sport, aswell as competitive game play. What is the level of your Advanced classes? For our Advanced Workshops, Masterclasses, and Elite Positional Training, the expectation is thatathletes played at least 2-3 years of club volleyball on a high level Club (U16+) or Open (U14+) team. These players have excellent ball control, including very consistent and precise quality contacts inpassing, setting, serving and attacking. Advanced players should be able to serve to specific zonesconsistently, attack or hit downballs to a specific zone with control and speed, and pass in system.Players must know the rotations for a 6-2 and 5-1 team offense, as well as be able to execute teamdefense systems and out of system play. These players will be expected to initiate their own drills, control the ball, and keep up the speed of play in fast paced and competitive drills and game play.New athletes will be asked for film or a roster verification from a high level club team to enter theseclasses. Will you be adding more classes? We will be adding more sessions and one-day classes as we get closer to the summer, and we oftenadd last-minute one-off training sessions throughout the summer. Be sure to subscribe to our emailsand check our Instagram feed and stories for updates on new classes! What should I wear/bring?It is important to wear comfortable athletic clothing and sneakers suitable for playing volleyball. Bringa water bottle (we have a water fountain to refill!) or something hydrating to drink. It is encouraged, but not required, to bring kneepads and/or arm sleeves/elbow pads.
