Together, we aremaking adifference!Dermatology Internship Program (DSI)Orthopaedic Summer Internship program (OSI)Physical Therapy Internship program (PTSI)Radiology Summer Internship program (RSI)Pathology Internship Program (PSI)Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Internship Program (PM&RI)Clinically, in all patient, procedure, or operative scenariosResearchProfessional DevelopmentWhile Nth Dimensions provides an array of services to students in the medicaleducation and training pipeline from undergraduate through post-residency, theNth Dimensions Summer Internship (NDSI) is one way in which Nth Dimensionslives out its ongoing mission to increase the number of women andUnderrepresented Minorities (URMs) in various specialties of medicine.As of 2019, the NDSI is comprised of four (4) programs:In 2023, we are adding two (2) additional programs for a total of six (6):What to Expect:Mentorship: Interns are placed and matched by the NDSI Selection Committee.The matching process is part of the real-time intern selection process. Interns areselected and matchedto maximize relatability to their chosen preceptors.The goal is to match the intern with a preceptor who can optimally support theintern in the following areas:We believe this early mentorship can inspire long-term growth, performance, andpromotion in theintern’s chosen craft.NTH DIMENSIONSSUMMER INTERNSHIP

Develop and refine a perspective on the broad range of medical knowledge, clinicalcare, and surgical practice.Expand and integrate an understanding of the scientific and clinical tenets ofpreassigned specialty to better prevent and manage the treatment of medicaldiseases and conditions..Develop an understanding of economic and practice management challenges thatcan lead to strategies that protect continued access to care for patients and theviability of the profession.Provide a forum to strengthen professional relationships and develop networks thatlead to better patient care, individual surgeon career satisfaction, and a more robustprofession as a whole.Preceptors will facilitate a personalized educational experience through acomprehensive offering of instructional courses, symposia, and scientificpresentations.Preceptors will support a forum for discussion of current issues in orthopaedicsincluding patient safety, advocacy, practice management, technology, and culturallycompetent care.Preceptors will offer complementing formats to facilitate career-long education thatmeets the expectations and requirements of patients, colleagues, and Maintenance ofCertification.Preceptors will provide a forum for the presentation of basic and clinical research withcurrent as well as future potential applications in the management of patients withmusculoskeletal disease or injury.Synthesize a basis for the practice of delivering evidence-based, cost-effectivemedical care, both patient-centered and population-based.Integrate current basic science, translational research, and state of- the artprocedures and technology into clinical practice.Become more informed and involved in advocacy issues related to dermatology,orthopaedic surgery, physical therapy, and radiology.To provide a forum for resident education on current clinical practice, relevant basicscience, practice management, and advocacy issues in preparation for careers ascompetent and ethical physicians and scientists.Course ObjectivesInstructional ObjectivesLearner ObjectivesNTH DIMENSIONSSUMMER INTERNSHIP
