13Reecting on a Vibrant Start to 2025: Highlights from Barrington Parks & Recreation As we welcome spring and look ahead to a packed calendar of community programs, we’re proud to share what Barrington Parks & Recreation accomplished in the rst quarter of 2025. It’s been a season full of energy, growth, and new beginnings as we continue to build a department that reects the heart of our community. With new program space on the horizon through the future Barrington Community Center (funded through the Community Center Investment Program Grant), and an evolving focus that now ofcially includes parks, we’ve begun the important work of restructuring. This includes clarifying program roles, expanding our offerings, and preparing for a more inclusive, accessible future that better supports youth, adults, and seniors alike. Q1 also marked a time of strong community engagement. We launched new programs like our Trails & Ales hiking and brewery series, welcomed back longtime favorites including youth basketball and adult tness, and celebrated the spirit of Barrington with a once a century Zip Code Day celebration on 03/8/25. Our annual Egg Hunt was another success, drawing families together for springtime fun and a reminder of the power of community connection. Behind the scenes, we’ve been working hard to enhance our policies and infrastructure—from revising facility rental guidelines to improving communication tools and strengthening partnerships with local organizations. We’ve also continued to prioritize safety, inclusion, and integrity in every program and interaction, staying true to the mission and core values that guide our work. As Q2 begins, we’re grateful for your continued support and excited about what’s next. Whether you’re attending an event, volunteering your time, or simply exploring what we offer—thank you for being a part of Barrington Parks & Recreation. Let’s keep the momentum going! — The Barrington Parks & Recreation Team
