Director/ProducerNative Arkansan Elizabeth Gracen is a veteran of television and film productions best known for her work on the long-running series HIGHLANDER and for being crowned Miss America 1982. An award-winning filmmaker, her fascination with the world of drag goes back to the late 1990s and her first film, THE DAMN DEAL—an experimental short documentary about young female impersonators competing in the Miss Gay America Pageant system. Her production company Flapper Films continues to create and develop educational, informational, and inspiring content for multi-generational men and women and is proud to partner with the non profit Flapper House Inc. to produce NATURAL STATE OF DRAG.Director & ProducersNatural State of DragElizabeth GracenProducerSpencer MaySpencer May has been setting the bar for excellence in female impersonation and pageantry in and beyond Arkansas for 30 years. As Kelly Cruise, he won the title of Miss Gay Arkansas America 1993. A two time Top 10 Miss Gay America finalist, he placed fourth alternate as Miss Gay Arkansas. As Arkansas Entertainer of the Year 1997, he advanced on to place in the elite Top 10 at National Entertainer of the Year. On film, he was one of the subjects featured in “The Damn Deal,” a short documentary produced by Miss America 1982 Elizabeth Gracen. He also appears in the feature film documentary “Pageant.” A former advertising professional, he is now a highly regarded stylist at The Fix Salon in Little Rock.
An award-winning writer and publicist, Ron Standridge is a Natural State native and veteran communications professional. A graduate of the University of Central Arkansas, Ron spent 18 years as public relations coordinator at CARTI, Inc. and has also served as communications director for the Arkansas Community Foundation and director of alumni and constituent relations at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences. He is now the owner of Write Away, Ron Communications and Public Relations. As a team member at My Ideal Music, Inc., Ron works closely with the estate of singer Margaret Whiting to promote and preserve the legacies of the legendary Whiting Family. A former director of the Miss Gay Arkansas America Pageant, Ron is also a noted drag archivist specializing in the history of Miss Gay America.ProducersNatural State of DragRon StandridgeDesigner and business woman Sandra Marbaise is the past founder and owner of Creative Advantage, an award-winning graphic design studio, and SanLori, a nationally renowned paper manufacturing company.
