a special tribute to michael chittum Rev Dr Michael Chittum joined the NACCC as the Executive Director in July 2015 Michael brought pastoral ministry and care non profit board experience and an understanding of the needs of isolated churches to his new position In the beginning he worked with an assistant in an office on the campus of Olivet College while supervising the remainder of the staff who were located at the main office in Oak Creek WI Within his first 18 months he had hired an Editor for the Congregationalist the Director of Development Communication and an assistant to the Director The re examination of the work of the Center for Congregational Leadership CCL led to another part time hire who worked closely with Michael on ways of adapting to the changing landscape of pastoral needs for our churches Based on several factors and through Michael s guidance he along with the CCL relocated to the office in Wisconsin Under Michael s leadership the NACCC experienced many changes improvements and overall growth Michael steered the way in securing a proposal and later approval from leadership to bring the Oak Creek office up to par with much needed and long deferred upkeep and maintenance His work in securing the partnership and training with the Center for Parish Development provided a path to help our member churches in their journey to revitalization Michael led the way to a comprehensive review of all NACCC missions and created tools and guidelines to formalize the relationships with those partners As the world faced a pandemic the Association confronted difficult decisions regarding in person meetings and gatherings and Michael was there to guide leadership through these challenging decisions and direct the staff as they adjusted to the many modifications Most recently under Michael s management a new NACCC website was launched As Michael moves into retirement he leaves the NACCC and Congregational Foundation on a clear path for success We are grateful to Michael for his dedication faithfulness and hard work donor recognition The National Association of Congregational Christian Churches wishes to thank all individual foundation corporation association and non member church donors who supported our mission with a contribution of 100 or more in Fiscal Year 2021 April 1 2020 March 31 2021 Every attempt has been made to ensure
