I was also a bigfan.When I met Felicia, I was amazed bytwo things, 1. How much she looked likeKate Bush, and 2. How much the girl inthe Kate Bush video for ‘Among Angels’,looked like her illustration for ‘HelloBeautiful’. I showed Felicia the video onmy iPhone, and she had not seen itbefore. She did say that people werealways comparing her to Kate Bush, andthat she was born the same year, andmonth as Kate. My visit to Cork University hospitalfor Open Heart surgery, of an AorticValve replacement, and the removalof an Aneurism. The ‘Gift from aBull’ was the valve a bull provided,for which each day I wear a Bolo Tiewith an emblem of a long-horn bull.2. I knew I would be on my own in thehospital and without visitors ‘or so Ithought’, so the night before thesurgery, I simply prayed.3. During the surgery I was clinicallydead for 14 hours, as my heart andlungs were transferred to machines.4. Then little Eve appeared. She wasnow two years old, and was verypeaceful and calming. She had thehair like the girl in the Kate Bushvideo and in the Felica Thomaspainting. She also had a beautifulBlue Butterfly in her hands…

I realised that Eve had come to mejust as her namesake, ‘The Comforter’.As young as she was, she was a Towerof Strength.12. Eve was a real Angel, my Guide,and a Gift from Heaven. I evenbought a tiny blue cat’s collar for theSnowDog. I knew it was too soon aftermy surgery to have a real dog, andwould need to wait another 3 months.When St Patricks Day came around on17thMar 2024, the six months hadelapsed since my surgery, and lo andbehold a puppy border collie, that Icalled ‘Paddy’, was waiting for me atthe fair.
