Definition of Text

Text is a sequence of characters read to form words, phrases, lines or sentences of which have not been arranged this way by chance, but have been produced by a person and with intentions to create something that contains meaning which is open to interpretation

Sans and Sans-Serif Fonts

Serifs are semi-structual details or small decorative florishes on the ends of some of the strkes that make up letters and symbols. Sans means to be without. So in essence the difference between Serif and and Sans-Serif fonts are the decorative florishes in text design present on the Serif text font

Audio Definition

To understand what audio is we must first understand what sound is. Sound is vibrations that travel through the air or another medium and can be heard when they reach a person's or animal's ears. Audio is the sound recorded within computers, and is retained as an audio file as a record of captured sound that can be played back or reproduced.

The audio file (to the bottom right) is an edited version of 'Rocket Man' by Elton John. To differenciate the edited file from the original I changed the speed of the file to a faster tempo as well as changed the pitch from Fmaj down to Gmaj.

Definition of Morphing

Definition of Graphics

A graphic is an image or visual representation of an object. Therefore, computer graphics are simply images composed of a single grid of pixels diplayed on a computerscreen. Computer graphics can be either two or three-dimentional and most computers can now display graphics in millions of colours

Short for metamorphosing, morphing refers to a technique in which one image is gradually turned into another.

Definition of Animation

An animation is the illusion of movement created by showing a series of still pictures in rapid succession. In the world of computers, graphic software is used to create this effect. Simple animation may be as basic as an animated gif file like the moving images shown on the text page of this book (page 3). More complicated animation could be changing certain aspects of real fottage into a cartoo style.

Definition of Interactivity

Interactivity is the communication process that takes place between humans and computer software. Programs that run without immediate user involvment are not interactive, they're usually called batch or background programs. Games are thought to be the ultimate for of interactivity as they require a large amount of player involvemnet for the program to function as intended.

Interactivity has been shown throughout this book as the user (in your case reader) must give directions for the book to continue forward onto the next page.
