There is a time in your relationship, usually in the beginningwhere anything and everything goes because your head overheels in love. The butterflies have set in. There's a constant hazein your eyes that blinds you to anything remotely negative aboutthe person in front of you. We were in this phase mostly as friends. It was the oddest thingbecause we were actually falling in love but we weren't supposedto be. We were just supposed to be friends. We'd talk for hours, laugh and be silly. We'd go out with friends and just find fun andhave fun. I gave her flowers, because I felt she deserved them. I still give herflowers today, because she derserves them and occassionally, shebrings me flowers in return. Harps and Sh#tOh So Romantic

Cabinet colors - shades of white and gray are prevalent in many new kitchens, but funcolors are creeping into more and more modern kitchen designs. The color could be anaccent on an island base or even in a butler’s pantry area.Countertops - this is where you can splurge a little and have fun. Buyers these days arelooking for high-quality materials when it comes to counters, not just your run-of-the-mill builder’s grade. Think beautiful quartz or even a unique concrete design. Islands - a key element to any kitchen layout, islands serve as a natural gathering andpreparation space. If anything has changed, it’s the size. Look for larger islands being partof newer kitchen designs, as well as multiple islands.Backsplashes - with simpler cabinet designs being en vogue, this leaves room for funwith the smaller details like your backsplash. Think unique tile treatments or even sleekmetal panels.Flooring - gone are the days of simple 4x4 tile or ceramic, and larger tiles marble orporcelain are in. Also in flooring are high-performance wood floors that flow intoadjoining living spaces. Continuing to gain popularity are vinyl flooring options that looklike wood. Lighting - adding in statement fixtures rather than purely functional task lighting canreally make a kitchen design pop. Plus, there are a wide variety of options out therewithout having to go through a decorator or designer.Seating - with kitchens playing multiple roles these days (homework station, homeoffice, dining, and cooking too), different seating options are a must. This might becounter seating, larger free-standing dining tables & chairs, or built-in banquettes.Organization - kitchen designs are only getting smarter. Spice racks, clever storage, built-in spots for small appliances. Overall, just better use of space. Technology - from smart appliances with built-in screens to controlling the timer on yourcoffee maker or light switches from your phone, technology will only continue to bemore a part of your home’s design, and the kitchen is no exception. At the end of the day, design is personal, and the choices are yours to make. Just think aboutyour priorities and end goals when making design decisions. And never be afraid to ask forhelp. A realtor or interior designer is your best resource when in doubt.www.mula4life.com

Once we posted our 5-year anniversary trip on social media to the Salamander, so many people asked howmy stay was there. I truly, didn't believe the hype but I wrong very wrong about the Salamander experienceand it was truly amazing. Immediately upon entering the lobby, you are hypnotized by not only the decor and ambiance, but there is anaroma that suddenly makes you feels like you stepped on a cloud and floating to heavenly experience. It wastruly a beautiful experience and Amu did a wonderful job planning the entire weekend. We ate breakfast Harrimans and the menu selections were delicious. The simplicity of the presentation ofthe food felt well and luxurious at the same time. We also had a couples massage and enjoyed the hot tuband heating pool in January. Instead of the second candlelight dinner that Amu planned, we opted for wings, pizza, and a game of pool. We were honestly just worn out from the spa. Overall, I highly recommend that you experience it at least once. It is high priced, but worth it, if you canhandle it. Also, the Middleburg, VA area is so relaxing and great way to escape the hustle and bustle of metroarea. So, take a day or overnight trip and enjoy. - LaKisa and AmuMADE US LOVE ABSOLUTELYThe Salamander, Middleberg, VA11
