S O , Y o u ' r e t h i n k i n g o f c r u i s i n g ?W H I C H C R U I S E L I N E S H O U L D Y O U B O O K ?The majority of people who try a cruise for the first time will love it — and many end up cruising again and again. Which cruise line should you book? It’s not an easy decision with so many to choose from. There are dozens of cruise lines out there, and no two are alike. Some just operate big ships. Some operate small ships. Some just sail in North America. Others sail all over the world. Some offer ships designed for family fun, whereas others won't allow children onboard. When you think of a “cruise ship,” you may think of the giant floating mega-resorts operated by the likes of Royal Caribbean and Norwegian Cruise Line you see in television advertisements — the kind of ships that carry thousands of passengers and have all sorts of gee-whiz amusements on their top decks. But the world of cruising also includes companies that operate far smaller, more intimate vessels that carry just a few dozen to a few hundred people. These ships have a completely different vibe. They’re more like small boutique hotels that happen to float from place toplace. In addition, you’ll find cruise lines all over the map when it comes to price points. Just like with land-based resorts and hotels, there are cruise lines for people on the tightest of budgets and cruise lines that cater topeople where money is no object. There really is something for everyone, this brochure will explain a little bit about some of the cruise lines we offer. To ensure you get the correct one for your needs speak to the agent who sent you this brochure.www.makingtravelpay.com | 1

A form of leisure travel that takes guests along inland waterways.Usually there are several port stops over the course of each passage.Typical river cruises often last longer than a week.Carry anywhere from 100 to 250 guests, depending on the ship size. Are popular on many of the world’s major rivers, including the Danube, Rhine, Volga and YangtzeRiver cruising is a relaxing, immersive and thoroughly enjoyable form of travel where you can enjoy ever-changing scenery along the banks of waterways such as the Danube, Rhine, Seine, Douro, Volga and Yangtze. Unpack just once on an award-winning, state-of-the-art 190-guest Longship and journey into the very heart of iconic cities and charming towns.A R I V E R C R U I S E C A N B E D E F I N E D A S :W H A T T O E X P E C T O N A R I V E R C R U I S E Accommodations.River cruises are brimming with onboard amenities. Staterooms are most often river-facing, and come equipped with hotel-style beds, private bathrooms, individual climate control, refrigerators, safes and TVs. Higher stateroom categories may have French balconies, verandas, and separate sleeping and sitting quarters. Rooms range from 150 to 600 square feet. Guests receive excellent and personalized service from onboard staff. Additionally, ships include restaurants, lounges and bars, as well as free Wi- Fi. Some ships even come equipped with libraries, boutiques, pools and/or sun decks.Cuisine.Guests are given a choice of dining options, including where and what to eat. Breakfasts can either be enjoyed al fresco or at the morning buffet, while lunches and dinners can be eaten while viewing passing sights or with friends in a common eating area. Open seating is offered, allowing guests to meet new people or enjoy the presence of the same people each day. Cruises offer regional cuisine and use locally sourced ingredients to help with their authenticity. Also common are wine pairings, selected from local tastes to help guests get a closer understanding of a region's culture.Things to doRiver cruisers spend more time in the cities, towns and ports along the way. Included shore excursions consist of guided tours that help guests become well-acquainted with the culture, art and history of their destinations. In addition to guided tours, guests can roam freely around local stops or arrange optional shore excursions. There's always ample opportunity to find something to do in every port, whether it's visiting an ancient castle, attending a classical concert or enjoying a famous museum.River Cruiseswww.makingtravelpay.com | 3

W H O Y O U ' L L B E C R U I S I N G W I T HWhile river cruises can be enjoyed by people of all ages, they generally appeal to people more advanced in age, baby boomers, in particular. Many river cruise lines allow children aboard their ships, although they may have age restrictions in place and usually there isn't much for kids to do. The makeup of a liner can include people of a wide range of nationalities, but more often than not, guests come from English-speaking countries.T H E B E S T T I M E S T O G OWhether you choose to travel in the on-season or the off-season, you’ll be able to gain a deep cultural experience in each of your destinations. In the spring and summer, you may witness local outdoor events and lively activities that only occur during the warmer months of the year. Cooler weather in the fall may mean you’ll run into fewer people in the streets of cities and ports you visit, which will allow you to take your time and get a closer look at sites that interest you without feeling rushed or crowded. And in the winter season, you’ll be delighted by festive Christmas markets and enchanted by the holiday traditions and celebrations of the locals.W H A T Y O U S H O U L D P A C KGiven that weather will be variable depending on where your river cruise takes you, bringing along both warm and light clothes is wise. Even during warm months, there is wind on the rivers, so it’s best to plan for layers even if the weather is hot. Additionally, you’ll likely be doing a lot of walking, so bring along comfortable shoes. Lastly, pack some dressier clothes in case you attend a formal event while visiting one of your cruise destinations.H O W T H E Y D I F F E R F R O M O C E A N C R U I S E SAlthough river cruises and ocean cruises share anumber of similarities, there are also various—andconsiderable—differences between the two. For one, ocean liners are bigger and offer morestateroom accommodations on average.Appropriately, they’re able to host significantly moreguests. The smaller scale of river ships means fewerguests, but more opportunities to get to know fellowtravelers, which often lead to lifelong friendships. In contrast to ocean cruises that may include multiplesea days, you will rarely experience a full day of sailingon a river cruise. Typically, guests will awake eachmorning to find themselves in a new port. With rivercruising, you can also enjoy an ever-changing mural ofbreathtaking scenery from your ship, so the journeyitself becomes part of your discovery. For those without sea legs, river cruises have theadvantage of smooth trekking, shallow waters and thegift of land that’s always in sight. Lastly, most rivercruises offer inclusive value, meaning your Wi-Fi,water, alcohol and included excursions are covered inthe price. However, ocean cruises tend to offer moreupscale amenities, like fitness centres, multiple diningoptions and a variety of live entertainment.W H O W O U L D E N J O Y A R I V E R C R U I S E ?River cruises are great for everyone, especially thosedesiring a more relaxed and intimate form of travel.Individuals who've never stepped foot on a ship beforewill enjoy the relative ease of a river-bound trip withlittle chance of seasickness. Furthermore, with a focuson cultural exploration of locations, river cruises areperfect for those with a curiosity about art and history,or a general interest in travel. Every river is unique andeach tells a different story—not only of the countriesthrough which it flows, but also of its locks, canals, scenery and bridges. Cruise ships have a variety of accommodations. Ensure that you understand the size and inclusions of stateroom categories. This will help you to determine the best setup for your family or yourself. Also, how long will you be in the cabin? A place to just sleep, shower and get out to experience? You could be saving that little extra to use at your destinations or activities/photos for the memories. In addition to the inside, balcony rooms, and ocean view, other classes of staterooms may have extra privileges. They tend to vary by cruise line. When you are looking at the sites you will generally note that ‘Guaranteed Cabins’ come up at a better price. These guaranteed cabins, you will be booked in for a cabin in your category. You will not receive a cabin number or location until you receive your final boarding documents. Even though you don’t choose your exact room, the benefits are that it will be the cheapest price for your category with the potential to upgrade.W H I C H C A B I N ?Generally, the sooner you book the better deals you get. Try to book your cruise 6-12 months out. Prices generally don’t decrease over time but if you are lucky to see that, then you may be able to get a price adjustment. However, this is not guaranteed.Booking early, like most activities/holidays etc ensures both a lower price and better cabins. Popular categories fill up quickly as families or couples would want the bigger cabins or balcony suites, as do destinations on newer ships. Prime locations are from mid-ship to the upper decks. However, if you are prone to seasickness, avoid the forward and aft locations (the very back or front of the ship).B O O K I N G Y O U R C R U I S E E A R L Ywww.makingtravelpay.com | 5

Consider your destination when packing and preparefor the weatherPack appropriate outfits for excursions, includingfootwearBring your own sanitizer, disinfectant sprays, and masks(although most cruise liners do have these in yourcabins)Download the cruise line app to view activities andcreate reservationsDepending on your destination, do remember to checkyour passport expiry dates, visas etcComplete your online check-in three days prior todepartureTake your travel documentation and passport – safesare in every cabin for safe keepingPack essential items in a carry-on for easy accessibilityPut your smartphone on airplane mode once onboardto avoid roaming chargesBe sure you attend Muster Drill (safety exercise) – Theseare much quicker and take only 3-4 mins of your time.“It’s the journey that teaches you about yourdestination”D O N ' T F O R G E T ! ! Don’t arrive the morning of your cruise or close to departure time. Planes can be delayed for various reasons, and the ship will leave without you. Always plan to arrive the day prior to departure to make sure that you can board the ship on time. As a travel agent this can be done for you. The same applies on leaving to fly home. Don’t book an early flight home when you return. Settle the account prior to exiting the ship and do a self-checkout if you can manage your luggage. You don’t want to book a flight that is too early to go home. In fact, it is recommended that you stay an extra day. And what a great way to look around your destination and relax before packing again for your flight home?Ship departures can be impacted by technical difficulties, weather, clearance from port customs, and other factors.D O N ' T M I S S T H E S H I Pwww.makingtravelpay.com | 6

Regardless of how much you read, watch, or investigate a subject or event, nothing can compareto living it! Worldschooling has become a growing trend in the past decade and is now the new‘jetsetting’. But living in a constant state of ’lite’ moving can be draining while trying to educateyour children, take advantage of the trip, and continuing to get YOUR work done to afford thislifestyle. Honestly, most worldschoolers go through a back and forth of , ‘Can you believe we justdid that?’ to ‘I want to go home to something familiar!’ In the summer of 2018, I found the best of both worlds. Being avid Percy Jackson fans, my kidshad used this amazing series to spark and do a deep study of Greek and Roman Mythology. Thisis how living education flows, find a spark and fan it into a fire! The natural process leads frominterest to study, to watching reenactments, to living it yourself. Oh! but the planning, reservations, coordinating, transportation, feeding everyone, and to top it all that, the big graycloud of how much will it cost with emergency mishaps like bumps, bruises, and unplannedsituations?? Greek Gods coming to life with Holland Americawww.makingtravelpay.com | 7

Page 10

Greek Gods coming to life with Holland AmericaThen like an angelic deliverance, my answer came in the form of a 14-day Greek Odyssey cruisethat hit all the major greek mythology sites!! With one payment I had a fixed number of howmuch accommodations, food, and major transportation would be without the worry of gettingfood poisoning, bugs in our room, or if I was getting the best price to get from here to there. Thenafter picking the excursions that catered to what we had studied, in one lump sum my stress ofmaking sure everything was taken care of flew away! Holland America did the transportationwithout having to worry about train schedules and tickets. They made sure we were sleeping inthe same bed every night and unpacking ONCE! Any medical mishaps were taken care of onboard. All I had to think of was how much souvenir and play money to bring! The stress and hoursof planning and stress I saved was worth $1000s! Then as icing on the cake, Grandpa and Grandma came along due to Holland America’s STELLARtrack record with cruisers over 50+. In fact there were few kids on the cruise which weappreciated in order to focus on the locations and grandparents. My kids will never forget their reflections on human rights at the Coliseum, hiking MountVesuvius and the lessons of Pompeii, Crete and honestly their surprise with how small theLabyrinth actually was, and standing at the Parthenon columns where great philosophers spokewords immortalized and cited 1000 years later. And isn’t that the point of travel, to experience more life in order to be the best version of yourself! That is how one cruise can change YOU, your kids, your family relationships, and your lifeperspectives- that’s not a sales pitch - just pure truth.www.makingtravelpay.com | 8

Ocean Cruise on Anthem of the Seas – Royal CaribbeanMy name is Gail, and I am a Cruise Master withCLIA (Cruise Lines International Association).Since my first cruise in 2017 (before I became anIndependent Travel Agent) I have been hookedon them!In October 2022, we set sail from Southamptonon a transatlantic journey to New Jersey, NewYork. We were at sea for the first two days beforewe docked at the Azores (AÇORES) a region ofPortugal. There were of course some excursionsyou could go on with the Cruise line rangingfrom $60 and up, however we decided to take awalk around ourselves. A beautiful little townwith a wide range of building and scenery totake in.Three more days at sea, we headed to HalifaxCanada. Wow what a beautiful place! Again, weopted for a self-walk, but in all honesty wishwe’d done more research as we couldn’t find thetown at all but there were plenty of restaurants.Another two days at sea we headed to Boston!Of course, its mandatory to visit the Cheerslocation! On this stop we did buy tickets for ahop on, hop off (+ - $25) which was fantastic(luckily it was just outside the port, so they knewwhen we needed to be back). After our lunch atCheers, we headed back to the ship with morebeautiful sights around the city.www.makingtravelpay.com | 9

Ocean Cruise on Anthem of the Seas – Royal CaribbeanOne day at sea we finally arrived in New Jersey on day 13 at 6am.We opted for the self-baggage carry off as we then could get off atany time we wanted, and in all fairness, it was quick and simple. The show, We Will Rock you…. Wow INCREDIBLE! I woulddefinitely suggest you see it! There were a lot of things going onthroughout the days and nights from guest speakers (we hadDouglas Vermeeran), trivia games to karaoke. Drinks package… well I didn’t take one out this time because Ireally hadn’t thought Id be having too many cocktails, but inhindsight I wish I had. A cocktail generally is $12 and when you arelazing around the pool or chilling in the Solarium another onewould’ve been nice. A night cap after a wine or two during dinnerwould’ve also been a plus. I did get a coffee package though (£31)which was great (yes, I’m a coffeeholic) but it allowed me to have aStarbucks daily which was usually a cappuccino or Frappuccino(totally hooked on those now). You get a card with 15 days andeach time you grab a coffee (regular by the way) they mark it off. Ifyou wanted a large, then they mark off two.One last thing, if you use your phone a lot either for familypurposes or work, I suggest getting the WIFI package. I hadn’tthought about it at the start so ended up buying Wi-Fi for 24hours twice ($32). But if you do want to completely ‘switch off’ onyour holiday, don’t get the package and catch up when you dockat a destination. The crew were all amazing and I take my hat off to them fromevery level. Always cheerful, happy and helpful, but if you can, dogive your specific people an extra tip… they work long hours andlong days for a small portion of the gratuities we pay for…… Onevery cruise liner!Well, my first Transatlantic was great and it won’t be my last, butnext time I will try another cruise linewww.makingtravelpay.com | 10

Their small size allows them to pull in close to port cities, so you’ll have more time to explore the shore. Because there are fewer people on board, you’ll build a deep sense of camaraderie with your fellow passengers as well as the crew, gaining more personalized service.Midsize ships provide a similar elegant experience to small cruises. These ships present a middle ground between small ships and large ocean liners.Large cruises can hold hundreds or thousands of passengers. Although they provide many diverse amenities, they’re too large to dock near port cities. If you take a large ship, independent sightseeing can get difficult — and costly.Mega liners the largest cruise ship, a mega liner can accommodate several thousand passengers per voyage.
