We value ourpartnerships with state and community programs, especially leaning inon new resources by MSBC in collaboration with Let’s Go! that helpsupport our goals and community needs. We have found the MSBCmonthly meetings, educational webinars, and overall opportunities toconnect, ask questions and feel supported very valuable to our efforts.Community Impact- Calina KeatingRN, BSN, CCRN-NICU, IBCLCThe Mama CoachI have loved working with this incredible team of MSBC volunteersand staff made up of diverse backgrounds, who share a commongoal of supporting working and lactating parents. Community Impact““When I was pregnant with my son, I knew I wanted to exclusivelybreastfeed him for 6 months and continue for beyond 12 months.MSBC was one of the first places I connected with, & I happilyfound such a wealth of trusted, already-vetted information I couldturn to so I could meet & exceed my goals. It’s an organization thatinstantly made me feel cared for & seen based on thethoughtfulness and accessibility of the curated resources they havecreated or linked. MSBC has been an inclusive and welcomingcommunity that has helped me on my breastfeeding/pumpingjourney (& beyond). I’m also so grateful for the advocacy MSBC hasdone on behalf of parents like me, and I am constantly referringothers who want to feed their baby human milk to their website! - Caitlin WrightParent to 2 yearold son, Eddie- Maine Familiesof GreaterPortlandOur team of family visitors benefits greatly from our involvementwith the Maine State Breastfeeding Coalition. We have found theresources on MSBC’s website – specifically the list of localbreastfeeding support groups that is frequently updated – to beespecially beneficial for our work with perinatal families, many ofwhom are looking for resources beyond our curriculum. Our teamrecently joined MSBC’s bimonthly networking meetings andbenefits from the information shared and the connections madewith other providers in the community. We currently have twomembers of our team participating in the Certification LactationCounselor (CLC) training course and look to continue ourcollaboration with MSBC on behalf of the families we serve in thegreater Portland community.““
