BIG FISHan experimentalproject that aimedto push thecreative boundaryby creating a set &look almostentirely out ofpaper. This wasused to promotesustainablefashionencouraging theuse Recycle,Reuse &Repurpose.PAPER CUTsocial commentary on the comfort of the "BigFish'' at the expense of the pond. Climate changehas threatened ecosystems and communitiesaround the world causing individuals tocompete for resources. Poor communities areaffected the most and pay the greatestconsequences of those who abuse our sharedresources while living without a plan to helpreplenish those collective assets. This piece aimsto advocate for environmental justice so we maypreserve the earth for future generations.1 5
UNFORTUNATE SOULSan artistic interpretation ofAmerican Individualism. Itdisplays themes of greed andoverindulgence and commentson the infatuation that younghustlers and dreamers' have withshiny things and social status.HUNGERillustrates the fate of the persecuted and forgotten. It isan exaggerated portrayal of how privileged people viewthe less fortunate - scrabbling at the bottom like crabsto improve their circumstances and “make it out” whilefalling ever deeper into the abyss. In this piece, Icomment on society’s damnation of marginalizedgroups behavior who are merely trying to survive withthe deck stacked against them. Through silhouette, thispiece portrays the souls of the invisible poor and theirassumed reality from the outside looking in. 1 6
FRAGILITYis a self-reflective series thattackles identity & expression.HOUSE OF MIRRORSstemmed from my personal frustrations andstruggles with my own womanhood. Iwanted to take a very literal approach to thispiece so I decided to make this gownentirely out of BUBBLE WRAP. What startedas an allegorical dig at the fragile lady tropesoon blossomed into an opportunity to seefragility in a different light. As black womenwe are always taught to be strong, durable,unbreakable, yet we are the mostsusceptible to ridicule and abuse. I saw thisas an opportunity to comment on theurgency of protecting our women whilepainting us in a more feminine, regal light.1 7
JANE DOE - SCULPTURE (2023)JANE DOE is a look at the U.S. healthcare system& the predetermined fate of the individual whowasn’t deemed worthy of saving. Havingexperienced her own set of frustrations withinthe healthcare system, Mosley hopes to bringlight to the victims of health inequity who havebeen mishandled, discarded & forgotten.1 8
