As a trust, we are concerned with the issues of our migrant communities, especially their career journeys. We strive to support migrants by providing a pathway to settle into mainstream careers in NZ via information, guidance and upskilling opportunities. ABOUT THE CAREER CLINIC PROGRAMME Recently, we have started a targeted programme, The Career Clinic. This service is available to select individuals, who need one-to-one guidance in their career journey. The greater mission of the trust is to achieve social equity, inclusion, and social cohesion through better economic integration of the migrant workers and people from ethnic communities, in the New Zealand society. The Migrant Careers Support Trust is supported by many government and non-government bodies/agencies and partners who can help and provide guidance to those in need. - 18 -3www.migrantcareers.org.nzFeedback from Our Experts Adon Kumar I was privileged to be part of Migrant Careers job clinics and coached three clients. The sessions were face to face and one-on-one. The clinics were held in person and via online to suit their timeframe. This offered the clients privacy and the opportunity to provide employment guidance customised to the individual’s requirements. The clients sent me emails after the sessions expressing the immense value they got from these clinics. The clinics gave them a sense of value, confidence and hope for their future. The team at MigrantCareers were well-organised, responsive and client-centred. Great job team for your help in the migrants career journey. Regards Adon Kumar

This initiative/project has been integral in making a difference in the life of our migrants. One on one coaching sessions provides support and guidance to individuals that are looking to further their careers and success in New Zealand. Migrant careers facilitates the process of bringing together resources that may not have been easily accessible to those in need and provides on going support, networking opportunities and key contacts to help establish migrants. It is our kiwi way to look out for each other and I thank Migrant Careers for giving me the opportunity to positively influence the lives of others and mine! Thanks, Anisha

- 20 -5www.migrantcareers.org.nzShyamini Szeko National Learning and Development Manager The career clinic sessions provide incredible opportunities to those having challenges in the NZ work environment. Sometimes it is the smallest thing like seeking networking opportunities, tweaks to LinkedIn profiles, interview and CV tips that can make all the difference. This is an incredible initiative for skilled migrants, increasing confidence to navigate the kiwi working environment and enables them to achieve their employment and career goals. I have found the opportunity to provide career guidance, through coaching and mentoring extremely rewarding. When I moved to New Zealand 20 years ago, there was nothing like this. I hope more people take up this opportunity and learn from the experiences of the experts who have been on similar journeys.

However, I decided to not continue my mentoring with Adon because I have a few other things that I have to deal with.
