ConcertsIn the first half of our 42nd season, concerts will be brought to you by the NottinghamChamber Singers as they launch their 40th anniversary season, and the NottinghamFestival Chorus who will be singing In the King’s Company. There will also be three joyfulconcerts in December to celebrate the festive season.Workshops and GroupsFrom instrumental workshop days with Bandwise, Stringwise, the Recorder Consort andBlow the Dust, to festive singing in December and Mozart’s C Minor Mass in January &February, there really is something for everyone! Or have you taken up playing an instrument inadult life just for fun? Do you like playin g orchestralmusic? If the answer is YES to any of these questions thencome to Blow the Dust off your Instrument 2025.This course is suitable for adult instrumentalists ofAssociated Board Grade 3 or equivalent and above.Conducted by MfE’s Artistic Director Alex Robinsonand other expert music leaders, this playing day willgive you the chance to renew old skills or put new-found ones into practice in a friendly, relaxed andsupportive environment.WKWKMusic is chosen for the full orchestra (all players), thewind band (wind, brass and percussion players) and thestring orchestra (violin, viola, cello and double bassplayers). Nottingham Chamber Singers Directors: Angela Kay and Rachel Parkes40th Anniversary Season - special celebration concertsNCS website: www.nottinghamchambersingers.orgStarting in September, the 2024-25 concert season will see the Nottingham Chamber Singers celebrating 40years of music-making. From the first concert, Monteverdi’s Vespers, given in Derby Cathedral in 1985, the choir has developed a rich andeclectic repertoire of choral music. The programming in our Celebration Season will reflect the exciting range andvariety of music we have become noted for, including favourite works by Bach, Brahms, LeFleming, Whitacre,Rutter, Gershwin and more, plus a brand-new piece specially commissioned in honour of the choir’s 40thAnniversary.
