A Message from Paul Hamilton, Chairman, Maryland AGC Last year we reignited our commitment to growing the Maryland AGC, and wedid just that. In 2023 we welcomed seven new contractor members. This yearwe’re hoping to gain even more. Sold-out events in 2023 including the AnnualCharity Golf Outing supporting Warrior Canine Connection (WCC) and OriolesNight have shown us that your support is just as important as ours. In 2024 we’re expanding our efforts to bring together contractors across thestate through networking events, company outings, and, of course, our annualgolf outing and safety awards. I’m looking forward to seeing new and returningfaces this year. Through the AGC of America, we’re showing contractors across Maryland andthe United States that there are resources and support for the constructionindustry. This year, we’re supporting the AGC and Louisiana AGC in their fight against thecurrent Administration's mandated project labor agreements (PLA) for non-unioncompanies and protecting our rights as private companies. I’m very proud of ourefforts to educate and empower the construction industry. I’d like to thank you all for your continued membership and support of theMaryland AGC. I look forward to serving you in 2024.Paul HamiltonPaul HamiltonPresidentHamilton Pacific ChamberlainA MESSAGE FROM AGC3

WHAT MEMBERS ARE SAYING“There are three (3) key benefits of becoming a Maryland AGCmember: The opportunity to take part in company-building, as well asindividual-building, educational and training series. The opportunity to be involved in conversations and otherefforts that can help prepare our industries’ current/future“Young Leaders.”The opportunity to network with people from companies youwould not normally get the opportunity to.”Rodney Horton, Vice President, Horton Mechanical Contractors“HPC values our membership in the Maryland AGC for severalbasic reasons. It is most important to belong to an organizationthat shares our professional view of our industry and helps projectour voice via membership. The second very important aspect ofmembership is the professional development of our workforce. These training classes are very good refreshers for the seasonedconstruction professional and excellent for younger managers.”Paul Hamilton, President, Hamilton Pacific Chamberlain, LLC“I’ve been participating in AGC events for the past decade and havefound a tremendous amount of value to this organization. From apolitical standpoint, they keep their members well informed and lobbyon behalf of the construction industry (especially union), and havebeen very impactful. From a networking standpoint, I’ve met so manygreat people at both entertaining and educational events, many ofwhom have evolved from helpful resources to life-long friendships. Theeducation aspect of the AGC is one of the biggest reasons we’vecontinued our membership. They work extremely hard to deliverrelevant content and excellent environments for educational trainingsranging from OSHA 30 classes to CQM certifications, all of which arecritical to development in our employees.” Becca Pennington, Director of Human Resources and Recruiting Kimball Construction Company “After 30 years in the mega firm environment, I took the leap andopened my own construction practice. As a solo practitioner, theMaryland AGC has been instrumental in opening many doors towhich I otherwise might not have access.”Don Rea, Principal, Don Rea Law8

WHAT MEMBERS ARE SAYING“Maryland AGC is a leading organization in the constructionindustry, providing advocacy, education, and networkingopportunities as part of the many resources for its members. One ofthe most significant benefits I have experienced is the direct accessto the MDAGC Safety Work Group’s wealth of knowledge. Theability to have professional resources available via phone, email, orin person helps to ensure I am maintaining the highest level of safetywithin the industry. As the industry continues to change, having theability to work with the Maryland AGC Advocacy Group allows myvoice to be heard at the highest levels of government, which canhave a dramatic impact on my career. Joining the Maryland AGChas led to great opportunities, and I would recommend gettinginvolved to anyone in the construction industry.” John Ferraro, Safety Director, Stella May Contracting“As a current Maryland AGC (MDAGC) board member and pastchairman of the Safety Work Group, I have experienced firsthandhow MDAGC strives to be the premiere organization forconstruction. Not only does MDAGC provide education to helpmembers on their professional development path, they help youstay current with changes in the construction industry, grow ournetwork, and keep up with both state and national legislation andbest practices. Networking events provide access to industryleaders and help you develop strong relationships with peers. Ifyou want to position yourself as a future leader in the constructionindustry and be competitive in Maryland, you need to be a memberof the Maryland AGC.” Gary Matthews, Safety Director, Commercial Construction“When we decided to join the Maryland AGC we were assuredthat this was different than other Associations. Much like otherorganizations we have been a part of over the years, they offer funevents and great business opportunities. The amount that theMaryland AGC actually cares about their members is thedifference; I can’t say it surprises me, but it certainly is refreshing. We love working with the construction community and the MDAGCprovides an amazing forum to do business with truly great people.”Josh Pincus, Managing Partner, Malden Solutions9
