MOUNT DORA HIGH SCHOOL LAKE COUNTY PUBLIC SCHOOL DISTRICT LUKE HUTCHINSON Head Football Coach Our Town Our Team In my third season as Mount Dora s head football coach I wanted to welcome everyone to the 2024 Football Season Following a 7 3 season the Canes football program has committed ourselves to working at a higher level Through offseason strength training speed training and offensive and defensive meetings our players have shown tremendous growth Since the end of last season we have been fortunate to completely update both the interior and exterior of our locker room our metal storage shed and the PAC House We also added the All State Players Board to honor the great athletes of Mount Dora Football throughout the years Thank you to all the players coaches administration and the Booster Club for the hard work and dedication put into our program I look forward to an incredible season of Cane Football and am beyond excited to see our young men perform on Friday Nights Go Canes Coach Hutch

Week 8 Recap 15 12 The Canes were victorious over Tavares High School in a thrilling 15 12 win capped off with a last second field goal by Cayden McCoy With the victory the Canes move to 6 1 on the year and 2 1 in district play The story of the night was defense and special teams as the Canes suffocated the Bulldog s offense The defense was lead by player of the game Elijah McGhee Additionally EJ Balderas Evan Wassom Jonathon Wilson Jordan Williams and Coltin Fickett had big games Offensively the Canes were lead by QB Jake Sepe and WR Zyshonne Perry connecting on multiple passes The trio of Tymir Gaines Zyshonne Perry and Tanner Waring were instrumental in the last drive of the game to put the Canes in a position to win the game Special Teams was a major factor in the game with Cayden McCoy kicking the game winning field goal after being iced with timeouts McCoy accounted for 7 of the Canes 15 points and had multiple touchbacks to help allow the Canes to win the field position battle

Week 9 PReview The Canes 6 1 2 1 are on the road this week traveling to take on Seabreeze High School 1 4 0 2 In the last seven games the Canes are averaging 33 points per game and surrendering 14 points per game to opponents Seabreeze is averaging 10 points per game offensively and allowing 30 defensively The Canes are coming off a hard fought victory over district rival Tavares Seabreeze is coming off of a 14 point win against Atlantic Port Orange built in the mount
