MOUNT DORA HIGH SCHOOL LAKE COUNTY PUBLIC SCHOOL DISTRICT LUKE HUTCHINSON Head Football Coach Our Town Our Team In my third season as Mount Dora s head football coach I wanted to welcome everyone to the 2024 Football Season Following a 7 3 season the Canes football program has committed ourselves to working at a higher level Through offseason strength training speed training and offensive and defensive meetings our players have shown tremendous growth Since the end of last season we have been fortunate to completely update both the interior and exterior of our locker room our metal storage shed and the PAC House We also added the All State Players Board to honor the great athletes of Mount Dora Football throughout the years Thank you to all the players coaches administration and the Booster Club for the hard work and dedication put into our program I look forward to an incredible season of Cane Football and am beyond excited to see our young men perform on Friday Nights Go Canes Coach Hutch

Week 7 Recap 36 0 After starting out slowly in the first half the Canes erupted to beat the Matanzas Pirates by a score of 36 0 It was a big win on homecoming night The Canes offense was given a short field all night and accumulated 264 total yards of offense QB Jake Sepe was 11 of 14 for 122 yards and a passing touchdown to Tanner Waring Tymir Gaines had a big night on the ground with 3 rushing touch downs Defensively the Canes had a huge night in the shut out win causing four turnovers and multiple sacks Josh Collins had an interception returned for a touchdown Blake Sepe s interception Jaren Reynolds fumble recovery both lead to points for the Canes Gage McCoy sealed the victory for the Canes creating the fourth turnover of the night on a big interception

Week 8 PReview The Hurricanes host Tavares High in a district matchup The Canes 5 1 1 1 are coming off of a dominant performance against the Matanzas Pirates Tavares 5 1 2 0 are coming off a win over Umatilla High Through 6 games the Canes are averaging 35 points per game and 365 yards of offense The Canes defense is is allowing 18 points per game and holding opponents to 215 total yards per game Tavares defense is allowing 6 points per game while scoring 33 points per game built in the mount
