MOUNT DORA HIGH SCHOOLIn my third season as Mount Dora’shead football coach, I wanted towelcome everyone to the 2024 FootballSeason! Following a 7-3 season, theCanes football program hascommitted ourselves to working at ahigher level. Through offseasonstrength training, speed training andoffensive and defensive meetings, ourplayers have shown tremendousgrowth Since the end of last season, we havebeen fortunate to completely updateboth the interior and exterior of ourlocker room, our metal storage shedand the PAC House. We also added theAll State Players Board to honor thegreat athletes of Mount Dora Footballthroughout the years. The Canes came up short first district game of theyear in a battle with Bishop Moore. The final score ofthe game was 27-14. The Canes first score came off aturnover caused by #0 Josh Collins and recovered by#10 Elijah McGhee. The Canes offense capitalized onthe turnover with #7 Zyshonne Perry scoring on arushing touchdown. Jonathon Wilson added thesecond score of the night with a 74 yard kickoffreturn for a touchdown. #9 Tymir Gaines lead theCanes with 104 all purpose yards. Defensively, theCanes were lead by #13 Coltin Fickett with 17 totaltackles and 1 sack and #10 Elijah McGhee with 16total tackles and a fumble recovery. #24 CaydenMcCoy tacked on two extra points to bring his totalfor the year to 11/12. 27 14Week #4 RecapWeek #4 Recap
