Welcome to MissionConnexion Northwest 2025Come Together Go Further!Ecclesiastes 4:9 says: “Two are better than one, because they have a good return for their labor.” The same is true in our cross-cultural efforts. Solomon reects on how futile so much in life is, but when we collaborate with others, so much more can be accomplished. Our unprivileged partnership with the local church here and overseas is central. How we co-labor with other like-minded groups, and those who support us will determine if we are sustainable to “go further” taking the gospel to those without it. Keynote speakers helping us this year include Patrice Tsague, Randy Remington, Matthew Ellison, and Michelle Atwell, and they’re joined by over 90 workshops and 100 mission agency exhibitors. We hope your coming together with us will help you go further wherever God leads!Bill MacLeod Director, MissionConnexionWelcome to MissionConnexion! We’re so excited that you’re joining us this year.Sunset Church is honored to host this event that brings so many churches together - all with the passion to change the world locally and globally through missions, through Christ. Our church’s mission is to make disciples of all the nations - who are being transformed into the likeness of Christ. From our local, regional, and global outreach efforts, missions are such an integral part of Sunset. And what an amazing event to host! We believe God will move and do powerful things throughout our time as we learn, connect, and be empowered to Come Together, so we can Go Further!Steve Ruetschle Senior Pastor, Sunset ChurchGeorgene Rice EMCEE Talk Show Host93.9 – KPDQGeorgene has been a talk show host with KPDQ for more than 30 years and has traveled internationally as a station correspondent. 18 | WINTER 2025Taking “Next Steps” after MissionConnexionCome learn more at the “Next Steps and Big Choices” WorkshopThe world’s problems can seem overwhelming and daunting at times. As followers of Jesus, we desire to jump in and serve but many times we struggle with questions of where do I serve? How? What capacity? Will I have enough time? Can I use my work-related skills and gifts to bless others? This conference is designed with the desire to help you to have clarity and discernment in where you believe God may be leading you. Some people are sure of their missions-related role and that is great. We hope you nd a number of resources to help you on your journey. Others are not sure of what their role is at this stage of life and for the future. Those of us working together for this conference are committed to see tangible, God-honoring results. We have been praying regularly that God would use this time to speak to you and that you would then take the “next steps” as a result of this time together. We have identied six areas of missions-related roles that are possible “next steps”. Learner, Pray-er, Mobilizer, Sender, Welcomer and Goer. In order to make this as practical as possible we have scheduled a time block for each person to attend a workshop on one of these six areas. Our prayer and desire is that each person would be seeking God’s direction while going through the various sessions of this conference, giving some prayerful thought to which of these six sessions would be the best t.More will be explained during the conference. Included below are some questions that may help in determining your possible “next steps”.Am I a Sender… with a great concern for the lost of this world, a desire to use my resources to see people be sent to share the gospel and willingness to learn to sacrice in order that the good news of Jesus’ love and redemption can be sent out around the world? Am I a Learner… with a sense that God is leading me to a future Great Commission role but realizing that right now I need to be serious about deepening my relationship with Jesus, studying and learning from the word of God and learn “…what is God doing in the world today…” while seeking what role He has for me to reach the unreached for Christ. Am I a Welcomer… with a passion to engage with people who are coming to America from other cultures, to see this as a way to show the love of Jesus and to share with them the plan of salvation, to commit my time and energy to these relationships, seeing this as the same level of commitment made by those called to minister in another country and culture? Am I a Pray-er… with a God-given passion to pray for the unreached, to pray for more workers for the harvest, to pray for workers I know, to pray for God’s will to be done on earth with a willingness to make prayer a priority time commitment?Am I a Goer… with a willingness to humble myself to learn how to lovingly and sacricially cross cultures to live in such a way so others can hear the good news of Jesus, being passionate for the cause of Christ, prayerful and determined to be obedient - no matter what the cost - and willing to prepare well?Am I a Mobilizer… with a great desire to help people nd their calling, encourage others, help them with guidance, direction, and a listening ear, willing to pray with them and for them and to stand with them in their difculties and their victories and help see the local church mobilized into greater service for the Kingdom of God?

To understand this, Global Trellis conducted an anonymous survey in January 2024 on the challenges cross-cultural workers face. Don’t miss what we learned!Smelling Like Sheep: God’s Design for Missionary CareJosh BeckBaranabas InternationalCaring for missionaries is a challenging task. How you provide care is crucial, but who you are becoming in the process is even more important for the flourishing of those you serve. Often, we need to slow down to align with God’s work in us and through us. Shepherding is a key biblical analogy for leading and caring for others. A good Biblical grounding in a theology of shepherding can revolutionize how you care for those who go.Room 172What Does Soul Care Look Like in Eleven Areas of Concern?Amy Young, MA, LPCGlobal TrellisIn the session we painted the big picture of eleven areas of concern for many cross-cultural workers.
