WaymakerDear Friends of MCA, We pray that this new year, as spring approaches, has brought you a renewed senseof peace, joy and a reminder of the magnitude of God's love for you! In Isaiah 43:19 God says, "See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you notperceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland." Themost popular song at MCA's "Audience of One" talent show this fall, was Waymaker.The lyrics echo this truth: God is our Waymaker. Often, we need seasons in thewilderness and wastelands to prepare for the new thing. In Ann Voskamp's book withthe same title she says, “Deserts are not places where God deserts you but a place deserted of noise soyou can hear a word from God. Every wilderness holds God’s tenderness, and thedriest of deserts can be the holy of holies. Deserts aren’t places to fear: Deserts aretrust greenhouses... deserts are not places of despair—deserts are sacred spaces ofdivine dialogue." Over the past 45+ years, the Lord has sustained our ministry through yourgenerosity. He continues "making a way in the wilderness" for Christ-centerededucation in New York City, and we know He will carry us in 2023 as we usher in abrand new season! He is always a faithful Waymaker. Thank you for being patrons of the Gospel through your support of this ministry! Wehope this newsletter will make all of our donors feel like part of the MCAfamily...because you are! Christmas ProgramSpiritual Emphasis WeekMCA's Christmas program, Glory to God, was a special evening brought tous by Preschool-8th Grade, directed by our music teacher, Mr. Torres. After Christmas break, we were blessed to have the Coastlands team at MCAleading a Spiritual Emphasis Week (SEW) based in the Psalms for our middle andhigh schoolers, while faculty led SEW for preschool-elementary!
