The 2023-2024 school year hasbeen an exciting one for BaldwinEarly Learning Center. The weekof May 6th we will celebrateTeacher’s Appreciation Week.We look forward to showing ourstaff how much we appreciatethem!  Our Mother’s Day “Brunch with Moms” will be held on Fri-day, May 10. Please read moreabout it in the box below.  On Monday, May 27th Baldwinwill be closed in honor of Memo-rial Day.  We will celebrate the end ofthe year with graduation, afamily picnic and Family FunDay on Friday, June 7th begin-ning with PreK graduation at10:00 in the church. More de-tails will follow shortly. Our school year comes to anend on Wednesday, June 12th.Our center will be closed June13th & 14th for camp prepara-tion and will re-open on June17th ready for a fun summer! Baldwin Early Learning Center’s Moth-er’s Day “Brunch with Mom” is sched-uled for Friday, May 10th beginning at11:00 a.m. We will have tables set upfor you and the children so that youcan enjoy brunch and other activities withyour child during this time. The children willhave a “surprise” for each Mom. It’ssuch a special day! Friday, May 10th -Brunch with Mom  Monday May 27th- No school, Me-morial Day Friday, June 7th - Graduation /Family Fun Day  Monday, June 17th - summerprogram begins. Little Room by Ms. Via and Ms. Frances Happy May! Spring is defi-nitely in the air and ourfriends have been enjoyingtime exploring and playingoutdoors after weeks of rainand cold! Finally, it has gottenwarm enough for a breakfrom heavy winter wear!We've been able to start ac-tivities like planting flowers,preparing plants for summer,and exploring the bugs andbirds in our area. We learnedthe different parts of plantsand what they need to growbig and strong, explored thedifferent flowers like dande-lions and buttercups outsideour classroom, and welearned how to take careof our environment forEarth Day. We very muchenjoyed getting to eatoutside with our friendsfor a picnic on Earth Daywhile enjoying the warmsunshine and a coolbreeze! We dove intolearning about insects,what they are and whichones to avoid touching(like spiders!) and wewent on a scavenger huntto find different typesof bugs, which the kidsgreatly enjoyed! As springmarches on, we will continueto learn more about bugs andour environment around us. InMay, we will learn about babyanimals, and celebrate Moth-er’s Day! Optional confer-ences can be scheduled forMay 23. We are so proud ofhow much the children havegrown and how great they areat learning together. Theyhave become very independ-ent, responsible team players,using awesome manners, butmost importantly being greatfriends!

Field Trip to Hyper Kidz in Crofton What: On Friday, May 24th, we will take our end of the year field trip to Hyper Kidz in Crofton. Each child must have an adult with them who can drive them there and chaperone him/her while there. Where: Hyper Kidz at 987 Waugh Chapel Way Gambrills, MD 21054 443-716-3100 When: we have play time reserved from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. The children will be served pizza and a drink for lunch. Cost: $16.99 per child. Adults are free. Please make your payment either online or by check by May 17th. The entire staff will be going on this trip so no one will be at the center to care for your child in the event your child can-not attend. Please make arrangements. We will return by 1:00 so that your child can take a nap at the center. We will remain open until 5:00.

the month. Everyone has al-so been excelling in their self-help skills, working as a team, sharing and taking turns! We are going to give a big Happy Birthday to Lewis on May 7, Rowen on May 13, and Wyatt on May 31. A few things to remember this month: *Mother’s Day Brunch will be held starting at 11:00 a.m. on May 10th. Please contact us if you have any questions *Conferences will be con-ducted on May 23rd. This is NOT mandatory. Also, I will contact you if we feel a conference is needed for your child. Greetings and Happy May! Spring is in the air, and our friends have been working like busy bees! We are all very happy to be outside and enjoying the spring weather and hope it can stick around for a while. Last month, we welcomed a new friend, Ellie Mondora. We are very excited to have her join our class and hope her transition here is a smooth one. Our themes for this month are Pond Animals, Mother’s Day, Zoo Animals, Water Safety, and Memorial Day. We are continuing to work on letter and number recognition. We will focus on the last letters W-Z with a review at the end of 2023-2024 Issue 9 Page 3 *We will be closed May 27 for Memorial Day *Please don’t forget to apply sunscreen and bug spray to your child in the morning and we will reapply after nap if you bring one in. Please label! *Please continue to keep your child’s personal toys at home. Books and a stuffed animal for naptime are al-lowed. Thank you again for your continued work with your child at home. It is extreme-ly helpful, and it shows a great deal! As we always say “Teamwork makes the Dream work!” We are only a phone call or e-mail away if you ever need anything. Preschool 3 with Ms. Theresa & Ms. Brittany Pre-K by Ms. Kim, Ms. Kayla, & Ms. Tiffany Hello Pre-K Families, We am very excited to start our last full month of school. The mild weather is finally allowing us to have long outside recesses. The children have been picking wild flowers and going on “bug hunts”. They come up with amazing ideas every-day! Our main theme for May is “Mother Nature.” The weekly themes will be Mother’s Day, Baby Ani-mals, Zoo Animals, Water Safety, and Memorial Day. We have finished the alpha-bet and will start reviewing sight words this month. We will also be reviewing the numbers 1-20. Our science focus will be on life cycles and changes we see in the Spring. We will also make crafts about ani-mals and flowers. Conference times will be available on May 23rd. A few reminders: -Please apply sunscreen to your child before you drop them off at school. Full day children will have it reap-plied in the afternoon. -Please continue to keep your child’s personal toys at home. Books and a stuffed animal for naptime are al-lowed. -Please make sure your child brings a labelled wa-ter bottle! As it gets warmer and allergies get worse, water is very im-portant for them. -Please continue to work with your child at home on what they are learning at school. It can make such a differ-ence!

Please ap-ply sunscreen/bug spray on your child before you bring your child to the center. If you send in a LABELED bottle of sunscreen and bug spray for your child, we will apply it each afternoon before we go outside. Children who are here only until 12:30 do not need to send any in, but please apply it at home. Wednesday, June 12th– last day of school Thursday and Friday, June 13th & 14th– Bald-win is closed for teacher training and room prepa-ration. Monday, June 17th– first day of summer camp are closed. June 10th & 11th- 2 hour early dismissal. June 11th - Last day of public school
