NEWS FROM THE CHURCHES Chapel of the Pines – Bro. David Jordan served as the evangelist for a revival in April. Eight individuals rededicated their lives to Christ and two were baptized. First Baptist Church, Antlers- is hosting its 17th Annual Paper Doll Brunch on Saturday, June 8th from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. All proceeds benefit the Madill Girls’ Home. Please contact FBC, Antlers at (580)298-3374 for more information. Oak Grove Baptist- is seeking a music leader/ choir director. For more information call 580-326-5522. Apply at: www.kbacamp.com/how_to_become_a_staffer Kiamichi Baptist Assembly is a Southern Baptist Church camp for children and teens located in the beautiful Winding Stair mountains near Talihina, OK. There is a lot going on in May. Let me give you a summary. KBA Camp packets were put in the mail so be sure to check your church mailbox for them. May 2nd is our country’s National Day of Prayer. As you listen to the news, I believe we can all agree that prayer is very much needed. This Saturday May 4th is our annual KBA cabin clean-up day. We have 124 mattress protectors to put on our brand-new dorm mattresses. They are still wrapped in their manufacturer plastic which will need to be removed. May 9th is our next Brotherhood meeting will be held at 362 Waterfall Creek Rd just South of Idabel. The extracurricular activities will go from 5:30 pm to 6:30 pm and then we will secure all of our toys and enjoy gourmet hamburgers and hot dogs at 7 pm with Bro. Mike Mings preaching for us afterwards. It will be a great time of fellowship. May also has our next Executive Board Meeting which will be held at Finley Baptist Church on Tuesday May 14. Our state has been hit hard with tornadoes with more on the way. Please be in prayer for all those affected by the recent storms. We have many of our disaster relief team members from across the state helping in the recovery effort which includes chainsaw teams and our cooking teams (which are serving some 1600 meals a day). If you would like to learn more about Disaster Relief, please visit www.okdisasterhelp.org. In His Service, Bro. Mark Oleta Bryant, Frisco Women/ WMU Leader of our association and Pastor’s wife at Emmanuel Baptist Church of Hugo, was the recipient of this year’s Hugo Chamber of Commerce Volunteer of the Year award. Oleta has worked tirelessly for many years to aid those in need at the Hugo Pregnancy Care Center. Additionally, she runs the Hope Chest of Hugo, where donations gathered are sold at reasonable prices to raise money for the Pregnancy Care Center. Our association offers its heartfelt congratulations to Oleta for her recognition in this important ministry!
