It is hard to believe that summer is right around the corner and our churches will be gearing up for Vacation Bible School and Summer Camps I am especially excited about Kiamichi Baptist Assembly and all the kids and students that will be reached this summer during our weeks at camp Frisco Baptist Cabin will be available for our churches during Youth Week July 12 16 with Dr Blake Gideon and Children s Week July 26 30 with Pastor Barry Williams Please be in prayer for these two major events in the life of our churches as we petition God for lives to be changed and souls saved On May 11th our Executive Board will meet at FBC Valliant at 6 30 PM FBC Valliant will be serving a meal to our board members and requests that we park on the East side of the building We will be meeting in their youth auditorium for this meeting Thank you Pastor Mike for hosting this meeting 1st KBA Cleanup is still scheduled for Saturday May from 9 AM to 12 noon Pastor Brad Michael will be driving the Associational van if you need a ride to camp Meet at the office at 7 30 AM and the van will leave at 7 45 AM Lunch is provided We are getting close in completing our bathroom remodel but still have a little left to finish We will clean and organize 4 of the 6 sleeping areas mow and trim the grass clean the AC compressors unpack our new chairs and power wash our patio The kitchen and the last two remaining sleeping areas will be cleaned later in the month at the contractor s request as we complete some final tasks The contractor still has his roll off on the property and we can use it for any had a great in person VBS clinic on April 24th at FBC Antlers We had 22 churches represented with a total of 121 persons attending which is on par from our previous years We showed our appreciation to Jennifer Clark our Associational VBS Director for her 20 years of assisting and leading our clinics with a certificate and gift cards Remember to order your VBS literature through our office and it will be drop shipped to your church Lifeway will send a portion of what you spend back to the association and that helps support our clinic each year If you were not able to make the clinic you can Baptists should fully embrace and participate in this day as we call upon God on behalf of America What is the National Day of Prayer In 1952 President Truman signed a law stating that one day a year the President of the United States would declare a National Day of Prayer In 1988 this law was unanimously amended by the House and Senate setting aside the first Thursday in May as the National Day of Prayer It was signed by President Ronald Reagan and thus our annual observation of the National Day of Prayer as we know it began Just think about Christ followers from all across America from Maine to Hawaii stopping to pray for America on the same day Thousands of gatherings will be held in homes businesses schools and churches from rural counties to urban settings America is unified in prayer on this day There are many who also join us from around the world to pray for America It is truly a special day I am asking all Southern Baptists to mark your calendar for Thursday May 6 2021
