LIVE IT 7:42 PM May 17, 2019 י“טעשת רייא ב רומא תשרפ May 27 - Memorial Day – Hamilton dismissal for Preschool and 1-8G 11:50 AM, Williston dismissal for grades 1-8B 12:00 noon The phrase םינהכה לא רמא is targeted towards the adult Kohanim. They must make sure to keep all the laws unique to םינהכ. The phrase תרמאו is targeted towards the children of the Kohanim. The adult Kohanim need to instruct the children and teach them about all the laws that apply exclusively to Kohanim. The Mefarshim are puzzled why the language in the possuk seems to indicate that both phrases are aimed at the same subject - the adult Kohanim. Seemingly, the second phrase, which is supposedly targeting the young Kohanim, should read םהינבל תרמאו, not םהילא תרמאו. The בא תיב answers that Chinuch and teaching children involve two elements. Element one is the instructions in the mechanics of the Mitzvah. When a child turns three, he receives a pair of tzitzis. At thirteen, he gets tefillin. We teach him how to make brachos, how to learn, and how to daven. The second element of Chinuch is much more difficult to impart. We need to inspire them to love the mitzvos. This aspect occurs through osmosis and depends on the attitudes and unconscious messages transmitted by the instructor. If we clearly live Torah, we’re obviously enthusiastic about Torah, and give our children the message that Torah is the רקיע in our lives, then we’re teaching by example and our children will become accustomed to living in the same way. Similarly in this possuk. First, Hashem told Moshe to inform the Kohanim about the special mitzvos that only apply to them. He then commanded to tell them again - impress upon them that a higher level of performance is demanded and required of them. This extra level of performance is critical to ensure that their children will embrace these mitzvos as well. Have a תבש טוג! Rabbi Ochs Parshas Emor begins: םהילא תרמאו ןורהא ינב םינהכה לא רמא speak to the Koshanim, the sons of Aharon, and say to them. Rashi wonders why the possuk has a double directive of רמא and תרמא. He answers by explaining that this doubling is to indicate םינטקה לע םילודג ריהזהל. The elder Kohanim are obligated to transmit the laws of Kehunah to the younger generation of Kohanim. The bulletin is sponsored by: The end of the year is fast approaching, and the kindergarten is busy getting ready for the annual siddur play. On Sunday, the kindergarten kinderlach and their moms and even a bubby worked on a special siddur cover decorating project. Everyone had a fun time.
