In 2022, our son, Alan was born. Sadly, he passed shortly after he was bornto a rare genetic condition. Though we are sad our son is not here on earthwe know he is safe in heaven. We are bursting with anticipation to grow ourfamily through adoption! Thank you again for inviting us into thisvulnerable space with you. We have been and will continue to pray forprotection, provision, and peace in this decision you are making.Sending you the biggest hug, HelloM A T T & K C
201720182019 2019 20222023Started datingWe got engagedand beganplanning our lifetogether. We said "I do"with the sweetestdestination wedding in Gettysburg, PA!We bought our firsthome in Virginia Alan was bornStarted the adoption processWe met in 2017 on a dating app. We both swiped right! KC knew Matt was the one after their first date, wherethey spent three hours falling in love. Even though we met through a dating app, we still think it’s amazing thatwe “matched” as we may have never crossed paths. Over the next year, we found ourselves inseparable. In 2018, Matt proposed on Easter Sunday. Little did KC know that Matt had planned a secret special Easter egghunt. When KC found the egg, she brought it to Matt where he opened it and got down on one knee. Inside was abeautiful engagement ring! The best part was both of our families were there to witness the whole proposal. In 2019, we were married in Gettysburg, PA, where all of our close family and friends gathered to celebrate us.We were married at the train station where Abraham Lincoln arrived to deliver the Gettysburg Address. In 2020, after the pandemic hit and we found ourselves stuck at home, like everyone else, we worked tirelessly tomake our house a home. We spent many hours in our overgrown yard fixing it up and planting all differenttypes of flowers. We also added to our seasonal decor; our blow up Christmas decorations are the envy of all thekids in the neighborhood! In 2022, a week before we were supposed to leave for our honeymoon, which had been delayed two years due toCOVID, we found out we were pregnant. We were so thrilled as we had always wanted to be parents. We foundout during our 20-week anatomy scan that Alan was developing differently. We spent weeks advocating anddoing every test, scan, and doctor's appointment asked of us. Sadly, during a doctor's appointment at 31 weeks, doctors revealed that they did not think Alan would survive because his disabilities were so extreme. Alan wasborn alive and full of life. We only got to spend a short time with him before he passed. This is the mostdevastating and unexpected thing that has happened to us. We are thankful for all the gifts God has blessed uswith Alan and his story. When parents lose a child the statistics for divorce rate skyrocket. We are grateful thatnot only did our marriage grow but so did our faith in God. Our relationship has endured many difficult seasons, yet we have built our marriage on strength, love, and thefirm foundation of Christ. We hold fast to our commitment of “I do” and find joy in navigating our life together.
A few key things to know about our family1. We love Jesus. We believe boldly, pray often, and encourage asking big questions. 2. We love family time. Playing with our dogs, going for walks, visiting family and friends, or just catchingup on our favorite TV shows together. We truly love spending time with one another.3. We serve. We both love to help others. We volunteer our time with a local unplanned pregnancyministering to parents. KC is an instructor for a youth entrepreneurship program and Matt is a mentor tostudents in the program. 4. We enjoy baking/cooking. Matt worked in a pizza shop as a teenager, so he is a pro! During footballseason, we love making pizzas and wings. We enjoy baking delicious desserts and bread from scratch.5. We love sports. We are a big football family and try to attend at least one game in person each season.Matt truly loves all sports, it’s very common to catch him watching sports and rattling off stats and players' names. We can’t wait to have a little fan(s) in the stands with us in the future.6. We don’t take ourselves too seriously. If it’s a dance battle in our kitchen or playing goofy games wealways have a good time wherever we go. Life is too short to be serious all the time! 7. We have the best pets.- We love our dogs Sadie and Kona and our fluffy cat, Leo! They all get along welland it’s fun to see their different personalities. They love the neighbor kids when they come over to play.Fun fact: all three of our fur babies were rescued. 8. Community is our cornerstone. We’re surrounded by a great community of church family, friends, and neighbors. 9. We love where we live. Our home is where KC grew up and the community around us supports us and our dreams. We especially love where we live as we get to experience all four seasons!

F a m i l y T r a d i t i o n sThe traditions we keep are extremely important to us. A few traditions thatare our favorites are:Decorating our home for Christmas is a big deal for our family. It takesseveral days for us to unpack and organize all of our decorations. We notonly decorate the inside of the house but the outside as well! Easter egg hunts are a must. Growing up Easter egg hunts were big for bothof our families and we can’t wait to bring back this tradition for ourchildren. Pizza making is delicious. Teaching our kids how to make pizza is veryimportant to us. In high school, Matt worked in a pizza shop, which holdssome of his favorite memories. We love making our own crust fromscratch. Homemade pizzas are made by hand every Sunday during footballseason!
Both of us have been drawn to adoption for quite some time. We truly believe this is how weare being called to grow our family. We believe that family is not created just by biologicalfeatures but by love, mutual respect, caring, and being there for one another. We truly hope we get a chance to hear your desires for your child’s life and how we can makethose a reality as they grow. We know you love them, and your child will grow up knowing thatit is love that brought us together. We will never make a promise we cannot keep; we arepeople of our word. Through this process, we promise to: 1.) Lean In. We are a strong family unit that doesn't shy away from the hard things and loveswithout borders.2.) Be Open. If you choose adoption, we will honor whatever type of relationship you desire.3.) Honor. We promise to honor you and your child’s story. We will also honor their culture, race, and history.our Hearts for Adoption
