Welcome to the 2018 2019 Marion High School Athletics school year Welcome Bulldogs As we embark on the 2018 2019 school year we are greatly anticipating all that is in store for our student athletes We are excited to see the hard work of our young men and women come to fruition as their seasons begin Our Bulldogs and their coaches have sacrificed long hours of hard work for one another and this will be evidenced on our fields and courts As I begin my first year here at Marion I am excited for what Marion athletics has accomplished in the past what we ve accomplished in just a few short months and look forward to the new and exciting avenues ahead for the new school year Marion Athletics had some great success this past school year with both team and individual postseason accomplishments The 2018 19 school year will be just as exciting with those same or higher expectations As a district our goal this year to celebrate the successes of our students and share the positive culture that our Bulldogs create daily We want every Bulldog to be a success as they reach for their high school goals We know that ensuring success in high school provides students with a greater opportunity in life Being a Marion Bulldog is more than being a part of athletics It is an opportunity to embrace experiences in life that promote a student s physical emotional and mental well being We are proud that our students take the opportunities to further themselves in the athletic arena Marion High School provides a great learning environment for each and every student that attends The academic demands are high to provide a greater opportunity for the students after high school to be successful in any endeavor they pursue Athletics provides many positive attributes in a young individual develop self esteem leadership skills social interactions and education about healthy lifestyle choices A positive and strong work ethic can also emerge by being part of a team Athletics can develop a greater sense of purpose to oneself by teaching teamwork forgiveness humility and excellence High school athletics provides the chance for an individual to develop physically mentally and socially On behalf of the leadership team faculty and staff we wish our Bulldogs the best of luck We also want to show our appreciation for all that they do in representing our high school and our community We expect to challenge and develop the student athletes by providing great competitive opportunities in both practice and game situations Our expectation is to have great scholar athletes by the time they graduate from Marion High School Parents family and friends thank you for being here to support our student athletes Our students success is evidenced because of your love guidance and commitment to their lives Thank you for all that you do to make Marion an exceptional place Student athletes coaches and parents are all expected to demonstrate good sportsmanship community involvement and a strong code of conduct As the public holds student athletes to a higher scrutiny we must work to demonstrate good judgment and a positive perspective of high school athletics Success and pride will come from competing the right way Let s make this a great year Stacia Snyder Marion High School Principal Ryne Miller Athletic Director Head Football Coach 3
