החמשב םיברמ רדא סנכנשמ 5:24 PM March 8, 2019 א ‘ב רדא ‘עשת“ט ידוקפ תשרפ  March 15 - Late Friday dismissal begins  March 17 – Torah Academy 37th Gala Dinner  March 20– March 22- see schedule on page 2. The psukim in this week’s parsha describe the הנוהכ ידגב in great detail. These clothes were worn by the kohanim while they performed the הדובע in the ןכשמ and שדקמה תיב. The לודג ןהכ wore eight garments, while a regular kohen only wore four. There are two Halachos mentioned in ארקיו רפסrelated to the appearance of the לודג ןהכ when he was engaged in the הדובע. Firstly, לא םכידגבומורפת. The Kohen Gadol was forbidden to enter into the Mikdash with ripped clothing. Secondly, וערפת לא םכישאר. The Kohen Gadol could not perform the הדובע with unkempt or overgrown hair. The ךוניחה רפס in ט״מק תווצמ-נ״ק writes that the reasoning behind these two Mitzvos is identical. He references the possuk in תליגמרתסא that reads קש שובלב ךלמה לא אובל ןיא יכ. It is inappropriate to serve in the household of the King while unkempt. As the Chinuch writes in :ט״צ הוצמ. The unique clothing of the Kohanim were הדובעלו תיבל דובכ. Wearing worn and torn clothing, and having overly long hair detracted from the honor due to the שדקמה תיב. The Chinuch adds another aspect to these mitzvos, ןושש ךרד קר ׳ה תיב לא אובל יואר ןיארעצו לבא ךרד אל גונעתו החמשו. An individual visiting the שדקמה תיב should be overwhelmed with feelings of joy at his good fortune. There should be no room for sadness in heart. Certainly, he should not display an outward manifestation of grief evidenced by ripped clothes and unshorn hair. Rav Pam ל״צז writes that this directive is not limited to םינהכ. Rather, it’s an imperative on every Jew. We must emphasize to ourselves and to our children the great privilege and opportunity we have to be part of the רחבנה םע, to do Mitzvos, and follow the הרותה ךרד, and the responsibility we have to act the part. החמשב םיברמ רדא סנכנשמ When the month of Adar commences we increase our happiness. Rashi in Masechta Ta’anis writes that these days of Purim and Pesach לארשיל ויה םיסינ ימי. This is a ןמז of Simcha. The miracles Hashem performed should propel us to a greater awareness of who we are, and what a privilege it is to serve Hashem. This brings us true happiness. Have a תבש טוג ! Rabbi Ochs The bulletin is sponsored by:  We look forward to seeing you Sunday night March 17 at our 37th Gala Dinner. It is our most important fundraiser of the year. Please show your support for our school by attending.  We started our week this Monday, March 4th with a snow day. However, that did not stop many of our Talmidim from learning with their Rebbe. Thank you Rabbi Sebbag (1B), Rabbi Marcus (2B), Rabbi Polter (3B), and Rabbi Hain (5B) for setting up a phone conference with your Talmidim. Thank you Rabbi Benmergui (7B) for a special learning session and lunch in the Kollel. ונקלח בוט המ ונרשא!! How fortunate we are to have such dedicated Rebbeim!  Tuesday afternoon, under the expert direction of Mrs. Fine, the girls in the seventh grade performed scenes from Helen Keller; the girls in the eighth grade performed scenes from Tom Sawyer. This was in conjunction with their study of these books in their English classes. Our wonderful actresses are now ready for Broadway. The audience was so pleased,. They would have paid to see such a production. Thank you Mrs. Fine. Thank you to Genia for the wonderful scenery and costumes.  Thursday morning, the girls in grades 2– 8 presented an outstanding choral performance coordinated by Mrs. Ettel Posy. The theme of the presentation was Shalsheles Hamesorah. There were selections from grades 2-4G and 5-8 G. It was incredibly moving to watch all the girls from grades 2-8 singing the finale on the stage. The parent feedback was wonderful. We thank each and everyone of the teachers involved in this special demonstration of our students’ talent. Thank you also to Morah Linda Nussbaum for musical accompaniment.
