This February, YPG members gathered to celebrate Black History Month at our Stretch andServe event. Guests participated in a yoga session honoring the strength and resilience of Blackhistory, highlighting renowned architect Paul Williams, who designed our original Chapter House.Afterward, attendees volunteered for the League’s Wildfire Relief and Prom Day projects, organizing clothes donated by Threads of Hope, an Australian non-profit. We also connectedover light bites, thanks to our food sponsor, YPG member Danielle Darden. In the spirit ofservice, attendees donated books by Black authors for our "Blast Off with Books" campaign, which helps build at-home libraries for children affected by wildfires.Lastly YPG members Briana Mitchel, Danielle Darden, David Meyer, J’Net Nguyen and ShannonReider attended our Family Day of Service: Blast Off with Books and helped make bookmarksand made “Date with a Book” gift sets for our Prom Day attendees.Thank you to everyone who attended and contributed. For February, we would like to highlight our long-time member,Kelly Christopher. Kelly has been a dedicated partner ofAssistance League of Los Angeles through both her professionaland personal community involvement. For many years, her employer, Kilpatrick Townsend, hassupported our Family Day of Service events by providingvolunteers and new books. As a NASA ambassador, Kelly has alsoworked with NASA to donate space themed items for ourstudents’ backpacks. This year, Kelly generously sponsored one of our weekdaySTEAM Read-Along for our preschool learning center. Shesponsored the read along for Technology. She read “Robots,Robots Everywhere,” where she shared the importance oftechnology in space. The event concluded with an interactiveactivity, where preschoolers created their own robots andbrainstormed ideas for robots that could help them in their dailylives. We are grateful for Kelly’s continued support andcommitment to our mission!YPG Leadership TeamMegan Events ChairDanielleCorporate and CommunityEngagement ChairBrianaMembershipChair SamaraMembership CommitteePalomaGroupAdministratorYPG is excited to create a new member benefit event for the summer!
