From Vision to Vibration:The Rise of JinShangBy Vero,When I first stepped into the world ofJinShang, I sensed something special—aspark of creativity, a feminine force, amagnetic energy quietly reshaping theway we work, connect, and celebrate life. But nothing prepared me for thetransformation I’ve witnessed over thepast two years. What began as a beautiful concept hasnow blossomed into a vibrant ecosystem:from stylish co-working spaces and chicoffice rentals to unforgettable concerts, elegant wine tastings, and soulful culturalevents. JinShang has become the spacewhere creativity meets community, andwhere women like Lilian—visionary, fearless, and wildly inspiring—lead withboth grace and grit.Today, I’m honored to sit down withLilian, the brilliant mind and heart behindJinShang, to explore the deeper purposeof this movement, what drives her, andwhat magic she’s weaving next. And trust me, Ladies: she is a real BossLady!V: Good afternoon, Lilian. Could youstart with a brief introduction aboutyourself?I am Lilian Tian, a native Beijinger and aninterior architect. I founded Way To LifeDesign when I was 23 years old. In 2017,I founded JinShang and designed itmyself. V: As the founder and designer ofJinShang, how would you define it?To me, JinShang is like a city—ablend of my favorite cities: Paris,Rome, New York, London, Tokyo,Barcelona, and Beijing in the 1980s.The existence of JinShang is an"impossible" possibility, and yet it’svery much alive.I feel I’ve truly poured my heart intothis project—my money, my time, mysoul. Over time, I’ve realized thatJinShang has given me far more inreturn... and it continues to do so
V: JinShang is, after all, a company. What are your core businesses andvision?JinShang is a company that designs, constructs, and operates spaces. But asI just mentioned, it's also a city—aculmination of ten thousand cities. It’s anambitious goal, one that truly feels likean "impossible possibility." V: That’s indeed an inspiring goal.May I ask, when do you envision itbeing realised? The goal is certainly intimidating, both toothers and to ourselves. But we Chinesehave a saying: "One should have ideals;who knows, they might just come true." Ithink JinShang will take a thousandyears to fully realize this grand vision.Hahaha. V: You’ve compared JinShang to acity. If it were a person, who wouldJinShang be?Who JinShang is depends on thecollective personality of the JinShangpeople. Above all, JinShang is someonewho is committed to lifelong learning andconstantly striving for improvement. Thecollective personality of JinShang issomeone who loves you wholeheartedly:If you are in pain, she heals you.If you are bored, she enriches you.If you are brilliant, she supports you. V: You’ve given JinShang a distinctpersonality. Could you elaborate onwhat sets JinShang apart from otherspaces? If I had to name a specific person thatJinShang represents, the first namesthat come to mind are Su Dongpo andSt. Augustine. Su Dongpo is a beloved figure inChina, described by Lin Yutang assomeone "who makes people admirehim immensely yet feel they can nevercatch up." I won’t elaborate further. St. Augustine said: "The greatest thingthat God has created is not thewonders of nature (such as the sun,the moon, or celestial bodies), but theineffable divine qualities (such as truth, goodness, beauty, grace, faith, hope, and love)." His statement that "the sunand the moon, all the wonders ofnature, are not God's first works butsecondary to spiritual works" resonatesdeeply with our philosophy. The JinShang people are lifelongbelievers in the doctrine of "truth, goodness, and beauty."
V: If a visitor were to come toJinShang, what would you want themto see first? If you haven’t been to JinShang yet, I’dsuggest starting by visiting all therestrooms. They’re like a restroommuseum. V: Wow, that’s a unique perspective.Could you talk about what makes therestrooms at JinShang so special?I love people, and I love paying attentionto details. When JinShang Yuan was firstbuilt, I spent three months being "a slaveto the restrooms," checking theircleanliness and tidiness every day. Atthat time, my daughter was around 4 or 5years old, and I’d bring her along onweekends to help with the inspections.Later, whenever she came to JinShangYuan, she would take over theinspections, checking each restroom andreporting back to me. V: What’s next for you and JinShang?Any exciting projects or sneak peeksyou’d like to share with us?What’s next for me? What’s next forJinShang? Those are huge questions! Thank you so much, Lilian, for sharingyour insights and the inspiring journeybehind JinShang. It’s been a truepleasure to hear about your vision, passion, and dedication. We wish youcontinued success with JinShang and allyour future projects!(Jinshang Yuan is located in Beijing,Chaoyang District, Xinyuan Xili, no.20)Let me focus on this year—2025. I’mgoing to pour my whole heart and soulinto JinShang Dongshanshu. I’mdetermined to give birth to this incredibleproject. This will be JinShang’s flagship project, its signature project, and its brandingexperience project. We’ll incorporate allthe elements people love: museums, galleries, theaters, parties, wellness, spiritual retreats, classrooms, fine dining, casual coffee, high tea, a Chinesemagical Acupuncture( ) , and adesigner hotel...
Bold Flavours, Bold Vision: Inside Taco BarBudapestBy Diana,Taco Bar Budapest, was founded by the super power duo Petra Lyskova and DanielKovács, their vision was clear: to bring authentic Mexican flavours to Hungary andHungary's capital. Petra, an impressive entrepreneur from the Czech Republic, embarkedon this journey with a clear vision: to introduce genuine Mexican street food to Hungary. Her inspiration came from years of living abroad, especially in the USA, where sheexplored a wide range of culinary traditions. The adventure began with a taco truckstationed near Lake Balaton, a regionwhere Mexican cuisine was relativelyunknown. Despite the initial challenges,Petra's unwavering determination andkeen personal insight transformed theventure into a resounding success.Despite the challenges of working with herex-fiancé, Petra proved that passion andperseverance could overcome anyobstacle. Together, she and Danieldemonstrated that professionalpartnerships could thrive beyond personalrelationships. Their joint efforts culminatedin the establishment of Taco Bar Budapestin the city center! The restaurant has a welcomingatmosphere, reflecting the some highlightsof the Mexican culture. The interior isthoughtfully designed, blending traditionalMexican decoration with contemporaryaesthetics. At Taco Bar Budapest, quality trumpsquantity. The menu is intentionally short, ensuring that every dish is crafted toperfection. Now let me show you some ofmy favorites:The star of the show? Among the standoutofferings is the Sopa de Lima, a lime-infused chicken broth brimming withvegetables, tender chicken, cheddarcheese, avocado, cilantro, and nachochips—a comforting prelude to the maincourses.
The spotlight, however, shines brightly ontheir tacos. Handmade on-site using purecorn flour, these gluten-free delights canbe customized with a choice of meats andsalsas, catering to both meat lovers andvegetarians. Each serving is promising anauthentic taste experience that transportsdiners straight to the streets of Mexico. The Birria Tacos—juicy, slow-cookedmeat folded into handmade corn tortillas, then dipped into a rich consommé for anexplosion of flavor. These tacos weremagic, I can not explain how perfectlymade they are.To complement the spice, the MamacitaMargarita is a must-try. This signaturecocktail blends tequila, lime juice, andorange liqueur, striking the perfectbalance between tart and refreshing. NoMexican feast is complete without a sweetending for those with a sweet tooth: TheBuñuelo is a delightful way to end themeal—crispy fried dough sprinkled withcinnamon sugar, served with a lusciouscaramel drizzle.Petra and Daniel’s story is one ofambition, creativity, and resilience. Whatstarted as a simple taco truck has evolvedinto one of Budapest’s most exciting foodspots, proving that with a bold vision andfearless determination, anything ispossible! And Petra is showing us Boss Ladies thatkeeping a goal is a must! So, if you’re craving authentic Mexicanflavors with a side of inspiration, Taco BarBudapest is the place to be.

I’ve beenliving in Beijing since 2011, and at 37, I fully embrace my millennial fate: no kids, threecats, and a growing jungle.
