Together in CareWe, Muskoka Algonquin Healthcare, acknowledge that we are situated onthe traditional territory of the Anishinaabe. We wish to deepen ourunderstanding of the culture of the local Indigenous communities to developappropriate culturally safe health care services by building trust throughrespectful relationships that acknowledge past harms and mistakes to moveforward in the spirit of Truth and Reconciliation based on the SevenGrandfather Teachings. Muskoka Algonquin Healthcare (MAHC) serves a vast catchment area spanningover 4,000 square kilometers—from Sundridge to Severn Bridge, and fromAlgonquin Highlands to Georgian Bay. Our hospitals support the healthcare needsof more than 60,000 year-round residents in the District of Muskoka, as well asindividuals from parts of East Parry Sound. During the summer months, the region’s population more than doubles, withseasonal residents and over three million annual visitors relying on MAHC for safe,high-quality care in the heart of cottage country.Who We ServeLand AcknowledgmentMuskoka Algonquin Healthcare’s multi-site model is designed to serve theregion with strength, unity, and purpose.
