Welce to O 2023 SoiréeMAAC was founded to provide a place where individuals and families could access the tools to attain economic strength and mobility. For nearly six decades, we’ve been dedicated to advancing equity and justice in our communities, and we’ve remained steadfast in our mission to transform thousands of lives through our five pathways of service: Advocacy & Leadership Development, Education, Economic Development, Health & Well-being, and Housing. Today, MAAC is one of the leading providers of comprehensive impact services in San Diego County, serving nearly 100,000 individuals each year. In the past year, we’ve achieved significant milestones. Last October, we broke ground on Ventana al Sur, a senior-housing development in San Ysidro, set to provide 101 affordable new homes for seniors aged 62 and older, including 25 units for homeless seniors. In March, we proudly opened our flagship North Campus Early Learning Center in Vista, licensed to serve up to 84 children between the ages of 0 and 5. Additionally, we’ve introduced several new programs, such as our Next Level Early Care and Education Apprenticeship Program, and invested over $7.7 million towards enhancing the economic well-being of families and individuals in our communities. In June, MAAC was selected as a 2023 California Nonprofit of the Year by Assemblywoman Laurie Davies. More recently, we championed salary increases for teachers and vital support staff in our Child Development program, further underscoring MAAC’s commitment to both economic development and education in the San Diego region. While we take immense pride in MAAC’s accomplishments and initiatives, the true measure of our success lies in the inspiring stories of our participants. Tonight, we come together to celebrate MAAC’s impact through their stories: whether it’s a Colibri MX scholar who now has access to more resources as they start their first year of college, a mother who has been empowered to pursue her dream of becoming an early education teacher, a student who discovered his passion for videography during his time at our MAAC Community Charter School, or an individual who found community and support through our recovery programs and now helps others forge their own path to sobriety. Each day, our dedicated MAAC staff ensures that our program participants have the opportunities they need to thrive and lead safe, happy lives.Tonight, we also extend our celebration to you— our valued partners, supporters, and sponsors. Your unwavering commitment to our community enables us to offer vital services and resources to those who need them most. Together, we continue to transform countless lives for the better. We are honored to consider you as part of the MAAC familia, and we express our heartfelt gratitude for your ongoing support.Sinceramente,Arnulfo Manriquez President & CEO

Abt O Organization MAAC was founded in 1965 by a group of community leaders seeking solutions to the increased hunger and poverty in their community. At the time, the organization focused on serving the Mexican American community and was based in San Diego County’s southern region. Today, MAAC builds on its Latino roots as it works toward equity and justice for all communities throughout San Diego County. From Fallbrook to San Ysidro, and from the Imperial County line to the beaches, MAAC supports San Diegans to create the life they want and deserve.Focusing on the areas of advocacy & leadership development, education, economic development, health & well-being, and housing, the MAAC team partners with individuals and families to address their immediate needs, create a plan for a brighter future, and encourage them to advocate on behalf of policies that help them and their communities. We proudly serve nearly 100,000 people who walk through our doors every year.To stay in tune with San Diego’s ever-changing needs, we work closely with our program participants and key partners. Our organization prides itself on addressing gaps in resources and taking advantage of opportunities to advance the communities we serve.Learn more about the ways that you can get involved in our work at www.MAACproject.org.
