CREATING YOUR DREAM CONSTRUCTION HOW WE BUILD YOUR ALBATROSS INTRODUCTION Every Albatross we build has a different personality and we pride ourselves on offering our customers a unique experience We encourage owners to visit the shipyard and become involved in the build process to help ensure we finish the yacht to their requirements We insist on using a hand laid build process to ensure an accurate layup which is quality controlled at every stage We focus our full attention one yacht at a time so that our skilled team are invested in delivering perfection from start to finish MATERIALS We do not compromise on the quality of the materials and components we use we will only work with market leaders An ISO NPG gelcoat ensures the most resistant barrier and weatherability for the hull which itself is laid up using a layer of isophthalic resin see opposite to further resist against osmosis ISOPHTHALIC RESIN A comparison of polyester resins revealed that isophthalic have key advantages over orthophthalic Isophthalic polyester resins which we use are undoubtedly of a higher grade and offer substantially higher strength better flexibility and chemical resistance To illustrate the important differences further in laboratory tests a fiberglass reinforced isophthalic polyester resin panel showed 10 higher flexural and 20 higher tensile properties than a comparable panel using orthophthalic polyester resin
