Carlita Maria Johnson Lee was born in Chicago on April 19,1956 to Doris Culverand William Johnson. She is the second eldest of four children. She was raisedprimarily on the Southside of Chicago with her older sister Pamela. As a teenagershe enjoyed performing modern dance routines, sewing, trying new recipes, andparticipating in fashion shows. She graduated from Harlen High School in 1974and received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Information Systems ProjectManagement and Analysis from DePaul University in 2000. She married the love of her life, Braxton Kenneth Lee, in May of 1997 whopreceded her in death in November of 2010.Carlita had over 16 years of experience working as a Business Analyst and 5 yearsin Project Management. She has worked for companies such as H&R Block, BMOHarris Bank, Software Tech Enterprises, Inc., Northern Trust, FIS Global, Bank ofAmerica, JP Morgan Chase, and Urban Partnership Bank. She also worked as adedicated full-time caregiver for her mother. She enjoyed traveling to the Caribbean, going on small weekend get-a-aways,spending time with her family and friends, going out to lunch and dinner, a niceglass of wine, listening to old school music, and attending live music events at theHouse of Blues, Bottoms, The Linger Bar and other local restaurants. She alsoenjoyed riding her motorcycle with her late husband and other riders.Carlita was a strong, self-driven, independent black woman. She was veryorganized, detail oriented in anything and everything she wanted to accomplish.She would always greet you with a warm beautiful smile, a big hug and leave youwith the words “I love you and there is nothing you can do about it.”She leaves to cherish in her memory, her mother, Doris Culver, her brothers, KarlJohnson, Kevin Johnson, Ronnie (Carol Moore) Culver, Micheal Culver, and GeraldCulver, aunt Clarice Marcella Jordan; niece, Sherron Morris, closest friendsVerhonda Chachere and Janet Lewis, and host of cousins and friends.
