SPRING 2022 • LIFEstyle MAGAZINEFROM THE BOG ChairmanFOUR SEASONS GOLF & SPORTS CLUB COMMUNITY,elcome to Spring! As we move into 2022, there are many changes that are coming our way! As we shared already, The Sports Club will be ending our relationship with the Four Seasons at the end of the year. Troon has been selected to run and manage the Sports Club beginning in 2023 and we are very excited to work with their management to ensure a seamless transition. As we work with the Troon executives, they are just as committed as we are to enhancing the member experience and our facilities across the entire membership! We cannot thank Jim Kern, his team and David Bernand for their leadership under the Four Season’s banner for all these years! The driving range renovation is under way and should be ready by sometime in May weather permitting! The pickleball courts should be finished and the next set of renovations on the tennis courts should be done. We believe this is just the beginning of the facelift that our club has needed, and we will continue to share the schedule for the balance of the changes to come this year! Our Board of Governors is working with our owners, Extell Development, to determine the opportunities for an equity position and other options for the members to consider. We will share the status of this effort as due diligence is completed and assessed. Our committees, under their leadership, have already set in motion terrific events and experiences for 2022! As things get back to a more normal state, you can expect to enjoy greater opportunities to participate in many new events across, golf, fitness, tennis, and social venues! On a final note, during this changing year, your Board of Governors are committed to continuing to make the Sports Club the best choice and decision for all our Members! We know we still have many challenges ahead of us this coming year and we commit to do our best to represent all the Members in our quest for excellence in all areas of our Club and our Club experience during this transition!Bill Nardiello Board of Governors Chair
THESPORTSCLUBFOURSEASONS.COMFROM THE General ManagerRegards,Jim Kern, PGAGeneral ManagerPRING IS AN EXCITING TIME AT YOUR CLUB The pool facilities are now open, many Member tournaments fire up on the courses and courts, and our busy Club activities schedule begins to blossom. Please review the upcoming events emails and Club communications as the best way to stay informed and get signed up for all the exciting activities your Club has to offer! Earlier this year, the Resort and Sports Club’s property owner and Four Seasons advised the Club’s Board of Governors that as of December 31, 2022, Four Seasons will be concluding its management of Four Seasons Resort and Club Dallas at Las Colinas. Simultaneously with this announcement, the property owner advised the Board that they signed a new management agreement with TROON to serve as the manager of the Sports Club following the end of Four Seasons management. In addition, the property owner advised the Board that several major capital improvement projects have commenced, including a signed construction agreement for a multi-million dollar renovation to the driving range, new pickle ball courts, and resurfacing of tennis courts. The property owner advised the Four Seasons that the Resort shall continue to operate as a luxury resort under new management, which will be announced by the property owner later this year in advance of the transition date. We are all committed to ensuring a seamless transition, offering you and your guests an exceptional member experience right up until the last day of Four Seasons management and then beyond. We have been proud to serve our Club members and be a part of this community for many years and will continue to operate with the high standards of service, excellence and care for which you have come to expect. It has been a privilege to manage Four Seasons Resort and Club Dallas at Las Colinas since the Club opened in 1983 and the Resort in 1986, and we will continue to work collaboratively as we transition to new ownership and management. TROON Executives have engaged with Club leadership and has assured every club employee that wants to continue their roles under TROON Management on January 1st, 2023, will have the opportunity to do so. SPRING 2022 • LIFEstyle MAGAZINEAApril showers, might bring May showers, but one thing is for certain. These next few months offer some of the best weather, and course conditions all year for enjoying the game of golf. We are also eagerly anticipating the opening of our newly renovated Driving Range. All of the work has been completed, and we are allowing the new turf grasses to establish. GolfBy Mike Kiesling, Director of GolfOur 2022 Golf Season is going JUNE4th & 5th – Member/Member Championship18th – WGA Pinehurst26th – Sunday Couples As Spring comes to and end and we begin to move into the early Summer it become imperative that we as golfers make an overt effort to repair ball marks on the greens. The greens will begin to face the stresses of Mother Nature, as she raises the temperature and turns off the rain. Besides making for a bumping putting surface, an unrepaired ball mark is an open door for the diseases and fungal growth that can spread from that one simple dimple in a green. The golf course is part of our family, and we as golfers need to do what we can to keep it heathy. Our golf operations teams will also be on both courses hydrating and cooling our putting surfaces for the better part of the entire day. These irrigation teams own the “right of way”. When you encounter a group of our irrigation techs services a putting surface play is suspended on that hole until they finish their job. They are generally done in 5 minutes or less and groups will at most encounter this once or twice during their rounds.Key Features of our New Driving Range• 7 acres of Tiff Tuff Bermudagrass a hearty drought tolerant grass that holds late season color and is quick to green up in the spring• Shaping of the landing area to present a more course like, and practice friendly experience• 7 New Target Greens including an expansive sub 100 yard green complex • New Irrigation • New Drainage to help move water and diminish closures due to weatherOur 2022 Golf season has been going strong and a few of our biggest events of the year are coming up.APRIL2nd & 3rd – WGA Eclectic23rd & 24th – MGA RingerMAY13th & 14th – The Lady Nelson Member/Guest22nd - Sunday Couples27th – MGA Half Day Member/GuestStrong

The biggest and strongest muscles in your body are found in your lower body. In golf, it makes sense to use these muscles. By pushing o the ground and using the feet, legs, and glutes, you can add a power boost and accelerate the club more eiciently than relying predominantly on your arms and hands. In an eicient golf swing, the hips stay back, posture is maintained and you have lots of space to swing the club. But with early extension the legs push o the ground prematurely. The pelvis thrust closer to the ball than it was at address, leaving no room for the arms to deliver the club. To get the club face on the ball, you have to reroute the club using the arms and hands and any number of inconsistencies can result. If you recognize the pattern in your own swing, here is a great fix. Place a bag stand* behind you at set up with your backswing slightly o it at address. Swing back, ensuring that your trail side glute moves back and touches the stand. In transition shift pressure into your lead leg - keeping your tailbone against the bag stand. As you deliver the club though impact the lead side glute should move behind against the stand as your post up and finish on your lead leg.The lower body action will give you tons of room to swing the club into impact without losing your wrist angles and lag.* Other options instead of a bag stand include a basketball or Soccer ball.THESPORTSCLUBFOURSEASONS.COMBy Jack Danshmand, Head Golf Instructor & Junior Golf Coordinator Your CURE for EARLY IMPACT WITH BAG STANDBACKSWING WITH BAG STANDIMPACT POSITION WITH BALL ON THE WALLEXTENSIONBACKSWING WITH BALL ON THE WALL

THESPORTSCLUBFOURSEASONS.COMSplit Step By Noah Lee, FS Tennis ProfessionalWhen is the right time to split step? As a player, you should commit to a split step when the ball is about 3 feet away from your opponents racquet. Don’t wait until your opponent hits the ball when you split step. Two things come from a good split step. First, you’ll always be ready to strike the ball in a forward position. Second, as you move where the ball is hit and create your split step, you will be in the right position as well. Take this to the court and enhance your game! Have fun on the courts!TIPS FROM THE PROS Strategize Your Play By Elijah Coulson, FS Tennis Professional Every match has a five-minute warm-up beforehand. Use that time to get ready to play, but more importantly to test your opponent making them hit forehands and backhands to determine what their best side is. From that point, you can strategize how and when to play to their strengths and weaknesses.Tennis
