Rabbi Wiesel was born in 5753 and learned at the Grodna Be’er Yaakov Yeshiva, where he acquired the foundations of Torah and Yiras Shomayim. After his marriage, he entered the elds of Chinuch and outreach, serving as a Maggid Shiur in Midreshet Ziv, where he taught many students seeking to come closer to the light of Torah. In order to facilitate his activites in Harbatzas haTorah, he completed professional studies in the elds of advertising and marketing. These skill led him to a positon where he was able to help expand the She’eris Yisroel kashrus organization. In 5780 R' Binyomin opened the Oraysa program in Eretz Yisroel. Originating abroad, Oraysa began as a modest initiative and quickly developed into a large-scale Torah enterprise with thousands of participants, hundreds of whom take tests each month, and dozens of kollelim across the country, “from Dan to Be’er Sheva”, focusing on the Oraysa program.Rabbi Wiesel lives in Telz-Stone, just outside the gates of Yerushalayim, and he is married with three children. He continues to spearhead the Oraysa revolution in Eretz Yisroel, combining his education skills with his professional training to further the vision of spreading Torah.R' Binyomin Wiesel ADMINISTRATOR OF ORAYSA IN ERETZ YISROEL”׳וגו םשה דידי רמא ןימינבלו"7

Rabbi Dovid Salamon SHLIT”A DIRECTOR OF LIBA'I B’ORAYSARabbi Salamon began his career in ג״נשת when he served as a Meishiv in the Kol Yehuda Yeshiva. Later, he had the merit of establishing the kollel for the alumni of Chevron Yeshiva in Bnei Brak, where he gave shiurim and was involved in the administration of the kollel for six full years.A signicant milestone in his career occurred in 5782, when, with the blessings of Rav Shteinman ztz”l, he established the rst “Achvat Torah” kollel in Bnei Brak. The project quickly expanded to other cities, including Petach Tikva, Yerushalayim (Sanhedria), Haifa, and Beit Shemesh. Truly dedicated to the program, there was a long period in which he would travel to Haifa every day to teach Torah. He merited tremendous siyata d’shmaya in all of his endeavors, and he was successful in bringing many Jews closer to the warmth of Torah. For over a decade, Rabbi Salamon worked within the organization of the Achvat Torah kollelim and taught in its over 60 branches throughout the country, setting the standard of what such a kollel should look like.In 5782, Rabbi Salamon joined the ranks of Oraysa, founding the Liba'i B’Oraysa kollel network which, after just two years, totals 21 kollelim. ”ומע 'ה יכ ויכרד לכל ליכשמ דוד יהיו"8

Overview“During the day, they carry the responsibility of earning a living, each man in his profession, whether in an air-conditioned oce or by doing manual labor. In the evening, they return to their role as yeshiva students, delving into the suygos with their chavrusos, as if they never left the benches of the Beis Medrash”

“LIBA’I B’ORAYSA IS A NETWORK OF ORAYSA "KOLLELIM", THAT FACILITATES A LIFE HARMONIOUSLY BALANCING TORAH AND EARNING A LIVING, THEREBY SAFEGUARDING THE SPIRITUAL FUTURE OF THOUSANDS OF FAMILIES IN ERETZ YISRAEL.10

Page 10

THE LIBA'I B'ORAYSA TRAILBLAZING INITIATIVEA quiet revolution is underway. Hundreds of laymen and working chareidim have nally found a framework which is enabling them to return to the beis medrash. through the unique program of Liba’i B’Oraysa. Liba’I B’oraysa is a network of Oraysa "kollelim", that facilitates a life harmoniously balancing Torah and earning a living, thereby safeguarding the spiritual future of thousands of families in Eretz Yisrael.BACKGROUNDIn today’s complex world, many young professionals in Eretz Yisrael are faced with a dicult challenge. The need to be able to balance the obligation to provide for their families in a dignied way together with the desire and importance to remain connected to the world of Torah and limud haTorah, in the Israeli society is a complex feat. Although this is certainly not a new issue, it has taken on an entirely dierent appearance in our generation.Tragically, many ne, young men who are forced to enter the workforce often nd themselves gradually drifting away from the world of Torah. The light that had once burned brightly inside them slowly dims, and their connection with Torah weakens. This decline unfortunately inuences the home, and their children grow up without the image of a father who who is connected to Torah and Mitzvos.THE NUMBERSDue to tremendous growth over the last few years, the chareidi population in Eretz Yisrael now stands at approximately 1.2 million people, representing approximately 13% of the total population. The community is facing new challenges that require a comprehensive response. Approximately 53% of chareidim who are of prime working age are integrated into the workforce, and the numbers are growing yearly.According to data recently published by the chareidi Research Institute, the employment rate amongst chareidi men between the ages of 20 and 24 tripled in just 17 years, going from 10% in 2005 to 30% in 2022. This shows a clear change in the perspective of the community regarding entering the workforce.11

Page 11

THE CRISIS:The process of integrating into the workforce presents a signicant spiritual challenge. A worrying trend has developed: approximately 12% of chareidi families in which the father has gone to work do not enroll their children in chareidi chinuch institutions. This is a symptom of the gradual detachment from the traditional chareidi lifestyle that occurs in these families. The problem lies in the gradual disconnection from the Torah. When a young man goes to work, he often nds it dicult to maintain his connection to Torah. The long hours, daily tasks, and foreign work environment make it dicult to foster and maintain a connection to Torah study. When coupled with a lowered social status amongst his peers, his feelings of inferiority as being a “working chareidi” make it dicult for him to even continue to attend the shul where he once felt comfortable, and he continues to further distance himself from chareidi society and the Torah itself. When a young man goes to work, he often nds it dicult to maintain his connection to Torah. 12

Page 12

THE SOLUTION:In this complex situation, Liba’i B’Oraysa has emerged as a beacon of Torah light to dispel the darkness. Established by the Gedolim of our generation, including Hagaon Rav Shraga Shteinman and Hagaon Harav Dovid Cohen, it oers a comprehensive response to the crisis that faces so many chareidim today. The words of Chazal, “The only free man is one who is involved in Torah,” take on a new meaning for these young men. Even those who are forced into the working world can be “free” — they, too, can remain connected to the Torah world.Even those who are forced into the working world can be “free” — they, too, can remain connected to the Torah world.13

Page 13

HOW IT WORKS – THE LIBA’I B’ORAYSA REVOLUTIONThe Liba’i B’Oraysa program is a framework of evening kollelim tailored for young men who seek to maintain a life of Torah while in the workforce. It provides them with a structured path to stay connected to the Torah world and limud haTorah by creating a network of chaburos, all learning at the same pace of one page of Gemara a day. Each chaburah is led by its own rosh chaburah, a talmid chacham who works tirelessly to guide its members in their pursuit of Torah and personal growth. In addition, the rosh chaburah gets to know them and assists them in the specic challenges that they may face. The program goes beyond learning in the beis medrash. In addition to the night kollelim, various activities are held for the wives and children of these young professionals, in order to strengthen the family’s identity as a proud and important part of the Jewish nation. Oraysa hosts Chanukah mesibos, Thursday night onegs, and gala siyumim to bring together the participants, thereby forming a strong sense of belonging and identity that is transformative for them and their families. It is not for naught that the Gedolei Hador have said that supporting programs which help these young professionals learn and remain connected to Torah while in the workforce takes precedence over supporting general Torah study.Liba’i B’Oraysa is led by the indefatigable Rabbi Dovid Solomon, who toils around the clock to form kollelim across the length and breadth of Eretz Yisrael. Currently, there are 21 kollelim in 10 cities, and the demand is only growing. Oraysa has received hundreds of requests from other young men who are begging, “Save us! Let us stay connected to the Torah!”WHY ORAYSA?Although there are many similar programs available today, the framework of Oraysa is unique in that the daily study program only takes place on work days, where there is a manageable pace of one page a day. Friday and Shabbos provide the participants with the opportunity to complete their studies and review the week’s learning during their time o, giving them the pleasure and fulllment of quality limud haTorah with a focus on understanding but without pressure. This connection to by creating a network of hundreds of chaburos, all learning at the same pace of one page of Gemara a day. This connection to Torah deepens with time as they integrate together with their peers and rosh chaburah into growing, happy bnei Torah.14

Page 14

Torah deepens with time as they integrate together with their peers and rosh chaburah into growing, happy bnei Torah.Furthermore, supplementary material is distributed monthly, such as the comprehensive Askin B’Oraysa booklet, which contains references for further iyun on the amud, a helpful explanation of each Gemara and their personal Oraysa calendar. These are just some of the advantages that sets Oraysa apart and make it the best program for these young professionals who want to remain connected to the Torah world even while in the workforce. It is indeed tting that when Hagaon Rav Dovid Cohen rst heard of the Oraysa program, he exclaimed, “This program is perfectly geared for the young ba’al habayis!”THE RESULT:From the facts on the ground, the results of the Liba’i B’Oraysa revolution are abundantly clear. Hundreds of chareidi families have been able to reconnect themselves to the world of Torah through the framework of Oraysa. The children in these families witness their fathers setting designated times to learn Torah, and thereby absorb the importance of our eternal connection to Torah and Mitzvos. The husband’s connection to Torah is maintained, and their homes continue to run in accordance with Torah and yiras Shamayim. A follow-up study conducted among the Liba’i B’Oraysa families shows that over 95% of them continue to enroll their children in prominent chareidi institutions, and the parents report that the spirit of the Torah in their homes has grown and become strengthened. The founders of Oraysa are excited to see this Torah revolution taking place in Eretz Yisrael amongst the young professionals who work hard to earn a living and are being given the opportunity to continue their path of connection to Torah and limud haTorah, thereby impacting them, their families, and future generations. These working men once again strive for the spiritual satisfaction that comes from learning Torah in a yeshiva setting, and they have engraved the holy obligation to delve into the Torah upon their hearts and into their schedules.Hundreds of chareidi families have been able to reconnect themselves to the world of Torah through the framework of Oraysa. The children in these families witness their fathers setting designated times to learn Torah, and thereby absorb the importance of our eternal connection to Torah and Mitzvos.Klal Yisroel is one with Oraysa!15

AN OPEN LETTER FROM Rav Abba Yaakov Li shlit"aMy name is Aba Yaakov Li, and I teach at Yeshivat Ma'arava under Rabbi Baruch Chait. I also give shiurim for the Daf B’Iyun organization. For a long time, the norm in Eretz Yisrael was that most chareidi men devoted themselves to learning Torah in kollel after marriage or teaching in yeshivos. In recent years, however, there has been a noticeable increase in men entering the workforce after marriage, taking up various professions. Unfortunately, I have noticed: instead of making Torah their primary focus and work secondary—or at least dedicating part of their day to serious Torah study—many of these working men barely engage in learning Torah. This lack of connection to Torah deeply aects them, their relationship with mitzvot, their children, their wives, and the atmosphere in their homes. This issue hit me even more profoundly during two recent trips to the United States to make American citizenship for my children. During these visits, I stayed once in Boca Raton and once in North Miami Beach. I was astonished when I entered the שרדמ תיב at 6:30 in the morning and found it full of people learning Torah. These were not avreichim but working men who had organized structured learning הרות in the mornings and evenings. It was evident that Torah remained the central pillar of their lives. Despite their professional obligations, they used their free time to connect to the light of Torah through chavrutot and shiurim, which uplifted their entire day. This contrast deeply pained me. How is it that in the United States, working men successfully maintain a strong connection to Torah as an integral part of their daily lives, while in Eretz Yisrael—despite the vast number of בא־םיכר learning Torah full-time in kollel—those who enter the workforce often feel disconnected from Torah? This disconnection is evident in their daily schedules and the atmosphere in their homes. It reminded me of the profound insight of Rav Yaakov Kamenetsky ל"צז. When Yitzchak sent Yaakov Avinu to ןבל to nd a wife, Yaakov stopped for 14 years at the Beit Midrash of םש and רבע to learn Torah. Rav Yaakov zt”l 16

Page 16

asked: why did Yaakov delay at םש and רבע? His father sent him to nd a wife! Didn’t he already learn Torah all his life from Yitzchak?Rav Yaakov ל"צז explained that Yaakov Avinu had learned from Yitzchak how to serve Hashem in the positive environment of Eretz Yisrael. But when he was about to enter the challenging and deceitful environment of ןבל, he needed to learn from םש and רבע—the experts in surviving spiritual exile. Shem had endured the generation of the Mabul, and Ever the generation of the Tower of Babel. They taught him how to remain steadfast in the face of spiritual adversity.I feel this dierence applies to Eretz Yisrael and the United States today. In America, people learn how to remain connected to Torah even while immersed in the demands of their professions. However, in Eretz Yisrael, where the majority of the chareidi community learns Torah full-time, those who leave kollel often feel disconnected and lack a framework to maintain their connection to Torah. This disconnection inuences their entire way of life.I believe that, with Siyata Dishmaya, the “אתיירואב יאביל” project, which aims to establish study groups and shiurim focused on learning one דומע of Gemara per day, ve days a week, with review on Friday and Shabbat, has tremendous potential. This structured approach, featuring slower-paced learning with a strong emphasis on understanding and repetition, would provide participants with a deep sense of satisfaction and fulllment. By creating groups led by inspiring maggidei shiur, we can foster a sense of belonging to the study of Torah and strengthen their connection as a collective and change the entire atmosphere in the home. However, this initiative requires signicant nancial investment to support its implementation. Yet, I feel this is nothing less than שפנ חוקיפ , as more and more individuals are entering the workforce, and we must ensure they maintain their connection to Torah.May Hashem help us ensure that all of לארשי ללכ merit the light of Torah, as it is promised: “בטומל ןריזחמ הזש רואמה.”I was astonished when I entered the שרדמ תיב at 6:30 in the morning and found it full of people learning Torah. These were not avreichim but working men who had organized structured learning...Yet, I feel this is nothing less than שפנ חוקיפ, as more and more individuals are entering the workforce, and we must ensure they maintain their connection to Torah.17

תרובח םיסכרThe Chabura in Rechasim is run by Harav Yishai Zar, 49, a great talmid chacham who comes from a rabbinic family. He is known for his pleasant rhetoric and charisma. He is very devoted to his talmidim, as one can see from pictures.Currently, there are 11 participants in his kollel, with the possibility of expanding to over 20. All of his members have entered the workplace within the last year or so, and, having only been married for less than 10 years, have smaller families. Their thirst for Torah is great.Generally the avreichim in Rechasim do not come from wealthy families, and they moved to Rechasim in order to take advantage of the lower housing costs. They work hard to support their families, returning home at 8:00pm from a long day of work, and only then, with tremendous self-sacrice do they sit down in the Beis Medrash to learn. There are no employment opportunities in Rechasim itself, forcing these young men to travel to cities like Haifa, Yokneam and Teveria. There are even those who have to trek to the Tzfas area. Despite their long commutes and longer hours at work, they are extremely dedicated the time they are able to toil in Torah.19

Page 19

In honor of the wonderful organization Oraysa:We have merited tremendous Siyata D’shmaya, and in your merit, we have been able to establish an Oraysa shiur in the holy community of Rechasim for men who work to make a living. Every participant receives his own personal Gemara, and they study the material with a set pace for review. Through this, each individual is able to feel his connection to the Gemara, and this framework strengthens the spiritual state of the home. The members of the household also have a stake in the completion of each mesechta, which strengthens the learning program. With Siyata D’shmaya, in a few weeks we will begin learning Meseches Megillah, and G-d willing, there will be a Siyum in honor of Purim. We are overjoyed to return to our old days in yeshiva with more strength and intensity.Yishai Zar, RechasimIn honor of the administration of Oraysa:We are a group of avreichim that began working around two years ago, and we are seeking more time to learn Torah passionately with an understanding of the material in order to nd true joy in our learning. The entire household has changed from this program; the children ask, “where is Abba?” and their mother tells them, “he went to go learn.” There are some of us who barely have time to be at home, but their wives are happy and the children are happy with that which their father goes out to learn the Torah. We want to add dozens more members to our chabura, and each of these added members helps their homes as well. We hope that the families will assist each other and strengthen each other as well. The Rechasim Chabura 20

He established the chabura over 3 years ago with 15 members.Charish is a new community with about 300 young families, and at at the beginning they did not have a place to learn. They began studying in a classroom in a school until, Baruch Hashem, a proper Beis Haknesses was organized. Harav Lederman is very serious about his learning and he loves Yeshivishe lomdus. He ensures that there are refreshments every day for the avreichim. 21

Dear Oraysa adminstration,Today, there are three kehillos in Charish, and I believe that it is possible for us to make a very large chabura with a good atmosphere for learning. An important aspect of this framework is the ability to unite members of all three of the kehillos here, and through the study of Torah we can make a powerful connection amongst all of us, and this way, the dozens of families and kehillos will be those of Bnei Torah. Currently, there are about 10 members joining us, and I anticipate more to come.Hashem should help you and us as well, Thank you very much!Mordechai Lederman, CharishDear Oraysa adminstration,We are a new community and as we are building, we are trying to breathe the spirit of Torah into it. We want to give character to the new city, and how the community is built will aect the shape of the community and its future. All of the learning lends itself to the “yeshivah” atmosphere in he Charish and in our communities. The more you support us, the more we can increase the Torah and the sanctity of the city.We are greatly appreciative to you!The Kehilla of Bnei Yeshivos in Charish I am Gavi Horn, 34 years old, and I am a Marketing and Sales Manager for the ltering company Askan. I live in Ramah Dalet, and I am married with three precious children. Hashem has granted me the privilege to be part of this special community from its very beginning. Our desire is to combine tellah, employment, and Torah, and He has helped me be one of the founders of this movement. Any support we receive in this special place benets one hundred families and their children and grandchildren will continue to fulll the mitzvos of Hashem in Torah and Tellah and a livelihood.Gavi HornIn honor of the leaders of Oraysa, in Eretz Yisroel and in the United States:Baruch Hashem we have a beautiful Beis Haknesses with a mikvah at its side, and we are doing many things to connect to our souls. We imagine the images of the Batei Hamedrash in the United States with full seats in the early morning hours, full of lomdim who spend the rest of their day at work. We imagine our kehilla as a model for others; combining Torah and livelihood, with quality chinuch for our children, working for the greater good. I would love to see our next generation continuing in this path.22

תרובח קרב ינב ןיזדארHarav Zilberstein knows how to explain the Gemara in a wondrous way. There are currently 10 members of his shiur, and he has the capacity to go up to 30.In addition to the in-person option, the shiur is also available in video form for anyone who wishes to participate. One of the members is a shochet who travels to Brazil and Scotland, and he does not miss a shiur due to the video option.Harav Zilberstein is a 36 year old avreich with 7 children, and although he is not very wealthy, he brings refreshments and beverages and makes siyumim in whatever capacity he is able to due to his limited resources23

In honor of the kingdom of Torah, Liba'i B’Oraysa:How wonderful is this powerful organization of yours and how much Torah you have supported! It is impossible to describe the wondrous things that have occurred as a result of this shiur; men, women, and children have transformed in a matter of days into true Bnei Torah like they dreamed of becoming. I want to let you know that what you are doing is incredible and if only we could have the resources to do more and the ability to multiply the program ten times what it is today! With all of the discussions and debates in the learning, we are barely able to get through the page each day!Hopefully we will continue to be successful more and more in Torah and all of Am Yisroel will merit to join us in this daily study.Yitzchak Zilberstein, Bnei Brak Radzin In honor of the organizers of Liba'i B’Oraysa:We would be overjoyed if you could assist us in any way possible to allow us to grow our shiur. We participate together with our Rosh Chabura, Harav Yitzchak Zilberstein and we all pitch in to provide along with the Rosh Chabura, but we could use more help in order to get the entire neighborhood involved to enjoy the sweetness of the Torah of the Rosh Chabura, Harav Zilberstein. 24

תרובח בקעי הונםילשוריThe Rosh Chabura is Rabbi Yosef Gottlieb, 42, avreich and editor, blessed with 8 children. He writes seforim about the moadim and he is immersed in his Torah study. He is a very organized, modest, and humble man, He does not miss even one day of learning, even when there is a simcha to attend. He barely misses any of his shiurim, and on the rare occasion that he is not able to attend, he secures a substitute for that occurrence. There are currently 12 men in the chabura; most of them teach, but there is also a professional driver, as well as a secretary of one of the institutions in the neighborhood. Recently, a righteous ba’al teshuva joined the chabura to begin learning Gemara. He now has a taste of what learning is because of the chabura. They currently have room for another 10 avreichim.25

Page 25

Dear Oraysa, We enjoy every day of our chabura. I especially enjoy giving the daily shiur, because I can see the enthusiasm and the dedication of the group. I would like to point out that the learning truly gives life to all of those involved, and the booklets provide a great resource which adds much to the learning and understanding. As a result, everyone is able to conclude their day happily and in a good mood.Furthermore, since the last few mesechtos have related to the Yomim Tovim, it truly added a new dimension to our Chagim, bringing them to another level.Thank you very much; you should merit to more mitzvos and continue to increase the study of Torah and glorify it.R’ Yosef Gottlieb, Neve YaakovFrom the members of the Neve Yaakov chabura:In honor of the administration of Oraysa,Baruch Hashem, we enjoy our Rosh Chabura. We have a large room available for our chabura, and even our children join us in the shiur, because the Maggid Shiur speaks so pleasantly. Our appreciation for your dedication to us is endless, and we want to bring many more people into the program. Each time we make a siyum, it is an occurrence that we do not want to let go of. We have gained so much from the learning, and the children come to celebrate and it gives the family a feeling of belonging in the Oraysa program. With Hashem’s help, we will continue to grow and ll the gates of Eretz Yisroel with Oraysa.26

The Kodkod program trains chareidim who have left yeshiva for various reasons, integrating them into the most prestigious intelligence units in the IDF, such as Unit 8200 and the cyber-security unit. The program provides professional training at the highest level for sought-after professions, even for yeshiva students and those who do not have a background in these elds. At the end of the program, the participants enter the job market with professions and income that are among the best in the economy, as well as an impressive record of service in the units that have made a name for themselves across the globe.Additionally, the program oers a solution for the recruitment issue that has plagued chareidi society (and Israeli society as a whole), which is considered to be the main issue that threatens Israeli society. For the rst time, there is a program that allows members of the chareidi community to contribute to the government while being able to maintain their chareidi lifestyle. The most signicant challenge in the program is to maintain the spiritual wellbeing of the participants lest, chas v’shalom, they be compromised in the process, as has occurred in other programs. We work hard to maintain a framework of learning Torah as part of the daily schedule in the program at every stage. In the preparatory and training stages, and even within the classied units as well and all of the activities that are involved with them. We recognize that 28

Page 28

The importance of these shiurim cannot beunderstated; they serve as a vital tool to connect those who are on the edge of the working world to the Torah.the study of Torah is the “light within” and is the most signicant anchor for a person’s spiritual being. Additionally, we see a goal of paving the way for the trainees to better integrate their Torah study into their daily lives, with the hope that they will not stray from the Torah path.Despite the size of the program, we ensure that the classes are made up of small groups of about 30 members. They are provided with top-level maggidei shiur who are adapted to this line of work. The Torah they learn creates a personal connection and elevates all of the trainees, and they develop close relationships with their maggidei shiur. These classes are done with great expense; there is no funding for them from the army or any other government agency. There is tremendous potential in expanding the Torah study program for all participants, those who are currently enrolled and those who are yet to come. This requires tremendous funding. The salaries of the maggidei shiur need to be paid, and siyumim and other events are organized to encourage participation. The importance of these shiurim cannot be understated; they serve as a vital tool to connect those who are on the edge of the working world to the Torah and serving Hashem. It paves the way for their future as men who connect Torah with their livelihood.29

Page 29

410There are currently 410 participants in the program, who are in various stages of progress.44 huge events have been organized to encourage participation.33 mesechtos have already been completed in the Oraysa format.250In the near future, 250 more participants will join the program, and by the end of the (Hebrew) year, we anticipate approximately 1,000 participants.50+Over 50 siyumim have been made to inspire the participants.1515 dierent shiurim are held each day from 10 dierent maggidei shiur, who are from the higher echelons of the Torah world.1K+Over 1,000 seforim have been purchased for the shiurim. The Kodkod program trains chareidim who have left yeshiva for various reasons, integrating them into the most prestigious intelligence units in the IDF.The Torah they learn creates a personal connection and elevates all of the trainees, and they develop close relationships with their maggidei shiur.30

I am Mordechai Wieder, living in Bnei Brak. I work in real estate brokerage, which is a job that spans all hours of the day.Although at the beginning of my journey i tried to juggle work with studying in kollel, over time, I found myself busy with apartments all day long, which caused me unintentionally to leave kollel (unocially). My wife was not happy. She missed seeing a house of Torah and spiritual stability. Despite the income I was bringing in, we lost the Torah atmosphere at home, which was replaced with a new and strange spirit. We put our heads together to think about how we could instill the Torah back into our home and prevent any further deterioration. We felt like we going to social events but we were wasting our time. What would be with connecting to Hashem Yisborach? What would be with tellah and following the mitzvos precisely like we used to? We sat there, and we decided together that it would be necessary to go back to learning. I went to a Beis Knesses near my house and sat alone, tired, and soon I fell asleep. This was not working. I tried day after day. One day, I was walking down Aharonson Street and I heard shouting. “Who is shouting at nine o’clock at night?” I wondered. I went into the Beis Medrash, and a saw a group of working men in a ery Torah discussion with Rabbi Zilberstein, the maggid shiur. They were learning Yoma in the Liba'i B’Oraysa program. I sat there, listening to their discussion about the korbanos; they were shouting, and it was quite nearly a ght! I got involved in their discussions, and the rest is history. I learn every day now. I am a Ben Torah again! I am careful about observing the mitzvos properly; our entire home was rebuilt - ank you!33

I am Moti Stauber, living in Rechasim on Hat’eina Street. I work in Yokneam, which is an hour drive from my home. I leave every morning at 6:00, and i work for Coralogix in the hi-tech eld.I have very busy days, just like every other Jew in Eretz Yisroel who works ve days a week, morning to night. I leave early in the morning and return late at night, so I am very busy with my work. There are no jobs in Rechasim; everyone works an hour’s drive away, some even more. I take two buses each day.Every morning, I have a dierent task to do. I work faithfully as the Torah commands us to do. Aside from a few short breaks for food and drink, i work 9 hours straight. The work is demanding, but fullling. The truth is, during the day I do not have a spare moment to learn because of my workload. I also do not have time to think about my needs and desires. I used to go from work to sleep and back to work. Day after day, because of my intense workload, I nish every day at 19:00 and return home at 20:00. At this time, I greet my family; my wife and children and I get to hear about their day. I still feel like something is missing from me; a void in my soul. This went on day after day for almost a year. A year earlier, I was learning in kollel, and then i left to learn a profession.A few months ago, a friend told me about the Liba'i B’Oraysa chabura in the Yaruf Tal Beis Haknesses in our neighborhood. He strongly recommended that I join the chabura. He told me that I should try to come and see what it is about for myself. One evening, I decided to take action and i went to the Beis Haknesses. I met Rabbi Yishai Zer, the head of the group. He briey explained the format of the program and that they were learning Beitzah at the time (which discusses the laws of Muktzah at length) at the pace of a page a day. I returned home that evening, and it felt like “techias hameisim” for me.Thereafter, the house began to blossom, and joy returned to our home.Occasionally, the entire family participates in a siyum, giving the women and the children a sense of belonging in the world of Torah life. The children began to see their father running to learn every day, despite coming home late from work.34

I learned in kollel for 8 years after getting married. I was used to learning with a chavrusa and growing in learning with friends, enjoying the Torah and drinking coee together during breaks. One day, I needed to go out and make a living. First, I went to school morning to night; taking exams and studying hard for two years. In the morning, I would learn for a mere 15 minutes in order to not go a day without Torah. In the evening, I was able to dedicate another 10 minutes. I did not have a chavrusa nor any friends in a Beis Medrash. I did not have the kollel atmosphere and no structure to my learning. I felt so broken!Baruch Hashem, I was hired in a good job with a good salary. From a nancial perspective, nothing was lacking, but i remained sad, missing friends and the kollel atmosphere. One evening, on my way to the Beis Haknesses, I came across an ad for a “Sevasi?” that was opening a night Beis Medrash for the Liba'i program. The hours were perfect for me! The pace of learning one page a day gave me the feeling of accomplishment with results.I returned home and discussed with my wife whether I should join the program, giving up time at home for it. Going out to learn was something that I was lacking. The answer I received from my wife was clear; even my oldest, my 10 year old son, who was involved in the conversation, told me, “Abba, I wish you would go back to the way you use to be when you were in kollel!”I went and tried it - it was an experience that cannot be described! It truly lled the void! Since then, I have been a fulllment of “I rejoiced when they said let us go to the house of Hashem!””Chaim Yitzchak Shtendler lives on Chanan Street in Beit Shemesh. He works in Yerushalayim in an accounting rm, putting in 9 hours a day.35
