Our design team with the assistance of the River Club Committee (RCC) did an excellent job in creating a refresh that we hope you will enjoy. Starting many years ago, with Bob Griswold’s vision to remove some of the walls in the Bistro to open up the space, to new chairs, bar stools, paint, art work, the Board lead by John Valletta and RCC lead by Jeff Brand, turned this vision into reality. Please review the Food and Beverage pages in this issue for upcoming events and make your reservations.Over the summer we lost a position due to a decrease in revenues from the loss of a management agreement. This position will not be replaced. We said goodbye to Eileen who did a great job getting us organized after Bert’s retirement. Her role will be absorbed by Shana Dam, our Assistant Community Manager, and Comptroller Val Funk. Angel has worked all summer, cleaning, painting, and assisting Chef Tod in the organization of the kitchen. He will be instrumental in the presentation of our new menu coming later this fall. We are enhancing our receptionist position to a full time Member Relations Coordinator. This position will be full-time and will assist Dan, Chad and the service team with events and reservations. Amy has elected not to apply as a part-time position is more in keeping with her family needs. We have appreciated all she has done. It’s only a few weeks away until we once again welcome our international staff. We will welcome Christa and Kayla back along with Heindrich and Lordes for the front of house staff. In the heart of the house (the culinary team), we will welcome Rolando and Shellon. They will all share an apartment nearby and reimburse the Club for the rent via their bi-monthly paychecks. If you recall from last year, we had a list of items the apartment needed and you were gracious enough to donate. Well, we need a few things again this year.
