WEARING OUR SCARF WITH PRIDEAt Lees Primary School, we believethat children thrive in a positiveenvironment, where they areencouraged, praised and feel safe.Lees recognises the enormouslyprivileged position it holds within thelocal community in preparing thechildren to become citizens oftomorrow.Lees is a SCARF school which means we follow ahigh quality PSHE curriculum designed by leadingchildren’s charity, Coram Life Education. TheSCARF values of Safety, Caring, Achievement,Resilience and Friendship are central to our PositiveBehaviour Policy and underpin everything we do as aschool. It is our belief that to treat childrenpositively, by praising them and offeringencouragement for the things they do well, is themost successful approach for nurturing life-longlearners. We promote the positive values of SCARF,in all school activities and this ensures that thechildren attending Lees Primary School are safe, caring, achieve the best that they can, and areresilient and friendly. Our RulesAt Lees, there are 5 expectations which are embedded in our core SCARF values.Every member of our school community must ‘wear their SCARF’ every day.We expect that everyone at Lees Primary School will:• behave in a way that keeps ourselves and others SAFE.• show ourselves, others and our environment CARE and respect at all times.• ACHIEVE their potential and be successful.• show RESILIENCE in the face of challenge.• uphold the values of FRIENDSHIP.Harold the Giraffe is ourschool mascot. He iscentral to the SCARFscheme and his storieshelp the children to linktheir learning with real-life situations. behaviours for learninglove from Harold x
