Lee Hall, conveniently located in the UL Lafayee Quad, is a campus building
completely devoted to student support services. If Lee Hall doesnt oer the
services your student needs, the sta here knows exactly where to send him or
her. Lee Hall is a very important locaon for your student to be familiar with
the enrety of their me in college. Lee Hall is located in secons C/D6 on the
universitys campus map.

The Oce of First-Year Experience, also referred to as OFYE, is the one oce on campus solely dedicated to as-
sisng the universitys freshman class. We direct the transion into UL Lafayee with UNIV 100, a three credit-
hour course designed to help rst-year UL Lafayee students transion successfully from high school to university
life and academic work. The course has two components: (1) Cajun Connecon, which is a one-day
extended introducon to UL Lafayee, to the campus community, and to University-level work and (2) the
First-Year Seminar, which then connues for een weeks during a scheduled class me.
Beyond academics, OFYE also encourages student and parent involvement on campus, orchestrang the Red Run
during the rst home football game of the year and Family Weekend, September 22-24, 2017. OFYE houses one
student organizaon, The Big Event, which is a community service organizaon that has organized over 10,000
students to help the Lafayee area since its creaon in 2013. This year The Big Event is moving to the spring
semester and will be held Saturday, March 24, 2018.
OFYE is also here to serve you, the parents of our college freshmen. Our primary service to parents includes
monthly communicaon through our parent newsleer, which includes updates on topics such as university
deadlines, campus social life, parental involvement on campus, and ps on how to best support your child while
in college. Please click here to sign up for the parent newsleer.

The Academic Success Center (ASC) is the leading resource on campus for students who need help performing up
to the academic standards in the college classroom. To aid students academically, ASC oers free tutoring
through the Learning Center, located on the second oor of Lee Hall. The Learning Center strives to ensure that all
students succeed academically, by oering individual tutoring, group tutoring, online tutoring, and
supplemental instrucon.
Beyond free tutoring, the Academic Success Center also oers a number of administrave services to
students. If your child gets to UL Lafayee and decides to declare or change majors, or wants to talk through the
opon of doing so, counselors are readily available. If any student also decides in the course of a semester to
withdraw from a class, the ASC is the rst place for them to visit in order to drop a class.
Students who are recipients of the TOPS Award are  to aend a TOPS workshop held during Freshman
Week (August 14-17). It is important to discuss with your student their TOPS requirements and their parcipaon
in this programming to ensure they remain in compliance with guidelines. Students must aend a TOPS Workshop
during Freshman Week.
The ASC also oers recurring workshops for students throughout the semester. A multude of Success Workshops
are provided for students adjusng to the academic and social systems of college life.
Should your student face struggles when in college, please encourage him or her to visit Lee Hall in order to get
the support and assistance they need to thrive academically and socially here at UL Lafayee.
