"First-generation college"means that neither of your parents havecompleted a 4-year degree in the US or abroad.Being a first-generation college student is thesole criteria to participate in LEAD. As a result,participants are from a variety of backgrounds,with diverse interests, academic experiences, andtalents.LEAD Week: Participate in anorientation the week before college tostart making friends and acclimatingto campusLEAD Seminars: Take introductorycourses to learn more about campusresources and leadershipopportunitiesPeer Mentoring: Meet regularly with acurrent LEAD Scholar and participatein fun activities with a mentoringgroup“Leaving home came with many challenges, butLEAD was the cornerstone that helped me build astrong foundation, both socially and academically.It became my home away from home, supportingme through every hardship.
